If i'm not mistaken its been said Willow was running back and forth bench to gate? Was this gate located upstream?

So the exit to garstang road is where they are concerntrating on for dashcam footage with over 700 cars they have to send letters to asking for any dash cam footage. There has been no mention of any CCTV/Dashcam footage showing that NB has entered the park and there would be limited coverage coming from the school NB would pass only two houses one has a bush in front of it which leaves one house on the corner on the latest google maps street view it has no cameras visible but this was a year ago. So we know NB is on the walk becuase the witness has seen her and their dogs interacted ?
It would have to be traffic cams IMO, not sure why not disclosed .... probably not necessary?
I agree it must be traffic cams along garstang road, i cant see any at the entrance from google maps but that is a year out of date. NB only passes two houses on her way to the walk before she turns right along the path. IMO

I really don't get this 10 minute window for her to disappear. She was seen 9.10 in field, LE know her phone was on the bench 10 mins later due to info from phone (if NB who put it there) but then phone not found until 9.33. So was from 9.20 until 9.33 that's a 13 mins window and if it wasn't NB who placed those things there it was 23 mins from when she was seen. Going with the 13 mins that is definitely time enough to knock her out and move her from the bench area and take her somewhere close by. The alarm wasn't raised until an hour later so during that hour there was plenty of time to drive off with her etc or keep her in a derelict building let's say and move her at a later date if hidden well enough. It just doesn't add up to me how the Police can't see this could be a crime.

No. It is the Garstang Lane Path and exit leading to the A586 Blackpool Lane. It was clearly stated on the press conference video.

In the most recent press conference (video below)
(Link is timestamped 23:45)

The police have said while they have checked some of the abandoned properties along the river edge, because they believe there is no criminal element to this case, they are no longer checking/or entering any properties in the area.

In my opinion that is a huge mistake - at this stage what is the harm in simple door knocks and walkarounds?
A simple second pass of these properties to make sure nothing was missed?

It’s probably been said early in the threads and I missed it, but if N was wearing wireless earbuds, they’d know exactly when they left the bluetooth range of the phone and, from the signal strength being received by the phone, how quickly they were moving until leaving that range, and whether that better matches the speed of the river that day or a typical walking speed. It might help explain their certainty if this was the case, but JMO and obviously just speculating.

Thank you mods for the work you’re doing.

The press conference didn’t really provide anymore information to us - I honestly think the police are in such a tricky position as until a body is found in the river there’s always going to be media speculation about third party involvement.

The police will also realise that they can’t search for Nicola in the river forever - police resources are finite and at some point they’ll have to scale back the search.

I wondered CCTV at petrol station JMO

seeing this video of the area she was supposedly last seen or thought to be with the dog i don’t believe for a second she fell in the water & drowned, whether she actually ever entered that section of the park is debatable as it seems so staged, the witness statement by the woman in the red coat is vital in this as to whether is 100% accurate or not

I don't think it's been mentioned. Her friends have commented on her using loudspeaker often. I guess it would be ok to assume she wasn't using any sort of earphones IMO but yes it would be handy having something else to track.

Yes i watched the conference as well there is no garstang lane, there is Blackpool Lane A586 as you have stated and garstang road. I believe apple maps names the road differently to google maps this was discussed in previous threads. I dont think i worded my message that well in the first place however IMO

summary of the presser this afternoon or you can watch it here

Super Sally Riley- where they are as of day 11
  • 40 officers & detectives under SIO ( normal for MISPER & this 'does not indicate any suspicious element to this story' )
  • 500 active pieces of info & lines of inquiry they’re actively working on at the moment ( 'Unprecedented number' - 'literally thousands of pieces of info' have been contributed by the public, family, friends, community. Enormous amount of information )
  • The enquiry team are fully OPEN to any kind of information- she repeated this again later ‘ but it does remain our belief that NB fell into the river and that this is a MISPER inquiry' ( as opposed to a criminal inquiry)
  • However 'we are not closed in any way to any line of inquiry' which contradicts the above.
  • 700 vehicles 9.10-9.15am drove thru the village ( see the last LP statement on their website re letter writing to chase these down if these cars have dash cam)
  • Riley then went to give examples of lines of inquires they've carried out
  • Riley then went on to list every partner agency which has been helping to date and all the tech deployed
  • SGI ( Faulding's crew) are working under direction of Lancs Police
  • The river. 'It is fast flowing , tidal in parts and a complex river to search. ‘ Particularly complex’ according to NATIONAL experts who are assisting . Precisely because it’s tidal in some areas, it is why we have to repeat searches in some areas
  • 6 specialists search the river bank & open ground every single day
  • Divers from NWU& MUnit are working with SGI too
  • Social Media / online - do not speculate in ways which can upset the family, upset local businesses or witnesses. People trying to break into empty/derelict properties even tho they mean well. ( She also said we have searched empty, renovation properties with permission of their owners)
  • NCA have already reviewed all of the investigation so far. Ditto the National Search Adviser (police national search advisor) has also not found any unexplored areas in our investigation. Again - all possible lines of inquiry are being exhausted.
  • Fitbit data. Investigation hasn't yielded anything useful to date but still working on it
  • She then went on to reiterate the timeline for 27 Jan
  • Then took questions from press. Q & A section is at minus 11minutes at the Daily Telegraph link above.
in case it helps new members:
NCA? National Crime Agency. Major crime investigative support
National Search Adviser https://www.psni.police.uk/about-us/our-departments/operational-support/police-search-advisor
MISPER missing person
SIO senior investigating officer ( ps. the SIO isn't Sally Riley)
NWU&M Unit ( North West's specialist water team, established since 1974 ) @NWPoliceDivers

Haven't done a verbatim cuz @Allabouttrial might have already done a transcript & don't want to double-up work. Have put my paraphrasing in italics

I just had a thought about press conferences and things that the public is told about crimes: is it at all possible that the police have pushed the idea of their accident theory because, if they did think a third party was involved, they don't want that third party to have any idea that they are looking for them and are hoping they'll make a mistake?

It was just a thought I had. I think the information that is released to the media is never the full story and could sometimes be used for more than just information-giving. (Maybe I watch too many films though...)
