THE dive expert scouring the river in the search for Nicola Bulley says his team will end their efforts later today.

Peter Faulding said they have done all they can to try and find the missing mum-of-two who vanished on January 27.

A friend of Nicola Bulley has called on police to launch a new search of an abandoned house and outbuilding close to the river where she is believe to have disappeared.

It comes as a close family friend of the missing mother-of-two, Tilly Ann, today urged police to search an abandoned house and surrounding outbuildings a short distance from the river.

In an updated Facebook post, she wrote: 'The abandoned house and outbuildings etc have not yet been searched as it is not currently a crime investigation!!!!!! (This should have been done straight away!).'

It was 45 years ago - to the very day - that 16-year-old Roger Jones vanished in the River Wyre after being catapulted into the water in a motorcycle crash.

The student from Fulwood was swept away in a fast-flowing brook which fed into the Wyre just yards upstream from where Nicola's mobile phone was found. His body was not discovered until two months later, washed up on a sandbank at low tide near to Shard Bridge, seven miles from St Michael's.

Lancashire Police have issued an update on their search into missing Nicola Bulley, saying they were now searching further downstream in an area of river which becomes tidal and then out towards the sea. Officers have been spotted in the water at Morecombe Bay.

The search for Nicola is entering its 13th day, with police trying to piece together what has happened to the mum-of-two. The mortgage adviser was last seen while walking her dog, Willow, on Friday, January 27, in the Lancashire village of St Michaels on Wyre. Nicola - known as Nikki - left her daughters aged six and nine at school before heading to the towpath overlooking the River Wyre. She had been on a work conference call and her phone was still logged into that call when it was discovered on a bench along the towpath. Her microphone and camera had been turned off for the call.

Thanks for putting this together. A well constructed and relevant chronology.
Everyone hoping for the best outcome of course, and at least some closure for family and friends. Tittle tattle will continue elsewhere but it is clear all on here have the best intentions. A good site this which I am new to.
Keep it up.

A dispersal order was issued by police last night after a vigilante search party combed an abandoned house on the hunt for Nicola Bulley, as the search for the missing dog walker has now moved to the sea.

Ms Bulley disappeared 12 days ago shortly after dropping her two daughters off at school. Her phone was found still connected to a Microsoft Teams call on a bench by the riverbank, with her dog running loose nearby.

Lancashire Police said the decision to issue of the order “followed reports of individuals - from outside the area of St Michael’s - filming on social media close to properties.

“The order will remain in place for 48 hours and gives officers the power to disperse anyone committing anti-social behaviour.

“Two dispersal notices were issued, and a number of other people were warned about their behaviour.”

The force added that it would “not tolerate criminality, including trespass and criminal damage”.

The search for missing mother-of-two Nicola Bulley has been moved to the coastline nearly two weeks after her disappearance.

Two boats with specialist police teams have been searching in the sea at Morecambe Bay, before heading upstream on either side of the River Wyre.

The 45-year-old went missing while walking her dog in St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire, on Friday 27 January.

Officers have confirmed they are focusing on the mouth of the river, with Lancashire Police suggesting finding Ms Bulley "in the open sea becomes more of a possibility".

Nicola Bulley update

Thursday, February 9, 2023

We can confirm a dispersal order was issued around 8.40pm yesterday (Wednesday, February 8) in St Michael’s on Wyre.

This followed reports of individuals – from outside the area of St Michael’s - filming on social media close to properties.

The order will remain in place for 48 hours and gives officers the power to disperse anyone committing anti-social behaviour.

Two dispersal notices were issued, and a number of other people were warned about their behaviour.

We hope that will give people some reassurance that we will not tolerate criminality, including trespass and criminal damage.

We are also aware of a number of grossly offensive comments being made on social media and elsewhere. We are looking into these and will not hesitate to take action where appropriate.

Our investigation to the disappearance of Nicola Bulley is continuing and we continue to search areas of the River Wyre and surrounding area.
