Don’t mind me just scraping my jaw off the floor o_O

So.. doc choc was married no wonder she’s been so adamant that he was just a ‘friend’

She admits she lied to the jury about being cut off from her friends and family and basically living in despair from the time she was removed from her duty in the unit. She was enjoying nights out, away days and a ‘very very active social life’.

She admits she lied to the jury when she said she was arrested in her pyjamas, when asked why she lied she just said ‘I don’t know’ and has no response when NJ asks if she’d like to watch the video that shows her in a blue lee cooper tracksuit.

^^the above are what she claims gave her PTSD so, if this was all lies then what exactly was the cause of this PTSD?

After the night she was asked not to come into work, she did infact work a few more shifts, and on one of those shifts filed a Datix report about a port being left open that ‘carried a risk of air embolism’ - remember how in her police interview she at first denied even knowing what an air embolism was..

She included the name of the third surviving triplet in her note to his brothers baby O & P. NJ suggests part of the plan was to kill him too.

NJ asks her to spell the name of a child’s mother in court, she cannot spell it correctly, NJ alleges that she used the handover sheets to know the correct spelling. - is he claiming this is one of the purposes of the handover sheets? To find out parents names in order to search them up on Facebook IMO

And we would never have learned this had she not taken the stand! I’m so glad she got up there and tied herself in so many knots she can’t remember which lies she’s already told.

If guilty it’s pathological lying. Every instance that can be altered to paint her as a victim is exploited. From when the babies started collapsing and it was ‘poor Lucy’it kept happening to’ through to inquiry time and it’s ‘poor Lucy’ who hasn’t done anything wrong. YAWN

What gets me is she continued the lie about being isolated even after being given the portfolio of pictures of her social life this morning -

The prosecution says this "disproves" what Letby has previously said about her contact with the unit.

"I disagree," she says.

Letby is asked if she was "looking for sympathy" when she told the jury she had been cut off and isolated from her friends.

"Yes, it was a very difficult time," she says.

"You thought you'd get sympathy by telling a lie," says Mr Johnson.

"No."

"Was it just a mistake?"

"Yes."

@MrDanDonoghue

Mr Johnson is now taking the court through various items that were taken from Ms Letby's phone, Facebook records following her removal from the unit - they show various interactions with members of staff on the unit

Mr Johnson says 'it is peppered with you socialising with lots of different people from that unit' She agrees. Mr Johnson says 'you had a very active social life didn't you', she says yes

There is interactions with a doctor, who cannot be named for legal reasons - the pair went on 'away day' to London together in June 2017. Mr Johnson asks if they stayed over, she says no - he asks if the doctor was her boyfriend

Mr Johnson pulls up messages after the trip were they've exchanged heart emojis - she says '(the doctor) is a married man, it was not a relationship at all it was a friendship'

Mr Johnson focuses his questions now on her arrest. He asks Ms Letby why she told the jury she was taken away in her pyjamas, he says she was in a blue tracksuit when she was taken away

Mr Johnson says 'you’re a very calculating woman aren’t you Lucy Letby, you tell lies deliberately don’t you' 'No', she responds 'The reason you tell lies is to try and get sympathy from people, attention from people' he says 'No', she responds

Mr Johnson is now taking Ms Letby over the various notes she found in her home and workplace. On one she wrote that she would never have a family - he asks why, she says because of her work situation

Mr Johnson says at that time 'you had a house, a car, a boyfriend' 'Yes', she says

Mr Johnson says she felt the way she did and was writing the notes she was because 'you knew you had killed and grievously injured these children...you have murdered these children' 'I have never murdered a child or harmed any of them', she says

Mr Johnson has finished his questioning. Ms Letby's defence lawyer Ben Myers KC is back on his feet, he is now going back over what was said in cross examination
Re the London trip; that must have been the images where she’s stood with a wax statue

Even if it was just an emotional affair, it is still wrong. If my husband is sending heart emojis to a young blonde and texting her from 6 am, all day, praising her until 1 am, leaving her chocolates, sending confidential emails from his superiors to her, jeopardising his own job, offering her his car, taking her on a day trip to London---I'm packing up his bags and leaving them on the front stoop...
For sure, he wouldn't b worming his way bk in either lol

Yes but as far as we've been told she was there up until her arrest, so it doesn't really shed more light on the timing I don't think.
Thanks. So essentially they're not quite the spanner in the works that they're being presented as, time-wise, at least.

This from The Guardian (article date 10th June 2019)
Letby, originally from Hereford, had worked at the hospital for seven years and was training to work with babies in intensive care when she was detained last July. It is understood she was suspended a year earlier and before this she had been removed from clinical duties and placed in an administrative role.

So just to clarify that: arrested July 2018, suspended from work approx June/July 2017

"Yes."

Maybe at the time she felt isolated at work?
Or at least i bet she wishes she'd said that when she has time to reflect.

That reads to me as if she was suspended a year before her first arrest in 2018, so in 2017. I always thought that, from a safety point of view, they might have suspended her when they contacted police in 2017, but the search of her desk made it uncertain IMO

And changing the locks.

I wonder how the jury are viewing this. It must be very different when in court and things are far more emotive. In black and white it’s easier to spot discrepancies and go back over things to make connections. Will be interesting to see the verdict.

OH MY GOD. WHAT THE ACTUAL CENSORED.

I’m quickly reading up on the reporting while I have a minute.

Dr Choc IS married. And she lied about something they literally have video evidence of, about getting arrested in pyjamas.

WTF.

PS If I was the judge I wouldn’t even have granted the reporting restrictions for him. He should be named and shamed.

Wow more bombshells so far today.
Even her “note” on post-it has red heart emojis “I loved you and I think you knew that” regarding dr choc.. commando, laughing emojis, trips to London, days out “on the razz”
JMO but her life is more active after being placed in an office than a lot of people I know!! Very unlikely with her (still) good job in an office, house, car, quite socially engaged that she wouldn’t marry or have a family!
Considering everything we’ve heard today so far; as @katydid23 pointed out; those notes show something else was clearly bothering her. I wonder what her parents or dr choc thinks now. What a mess.

JMO

No matter when she wrote that note to the triplets, it is bizarre behaviour. She basically apologised to all 3 of them for 2 being dead. And saying 'if no one else will think of you on this day I WILL---what the heck does that mean? Is she implying their parents are not grieving their deaths so she will?

And I think O and P were pretty obviously done in by the defendant---allegedly. But that note to them just seals the deal, IMO.

Gobsmacked! I hadn't picked up on the fact Doc friend/boyfriend was married. Also didn't know she was still working at the hospital until her final arrest or that she had written the name of the third and surviving triplet on a post-it note with the names of the two who had died.
