I understand :)

In fact, if I weren't so cautious,
the final dot above "i" and cross in "t" would be this house overlooking the Babies' Memorial Garden.

And if there was ever a film about this case,
I imagine the final scene would be the camera gliding slowly over the owls on the wall in the empty nursery in semi darkness,
and then through the open window to this Garden in the cemetery - with wind gently moving the flowers put on the tiny graves.

JMO
I totally agree. It is really hard for me to write that off as a random coincidence. I can't believe that the only home she could find or afford happened to overlook the cemetery with a window view of the babie's gravesites.

Especially since one of the theories was that she enjoyed sharing the grief with the victim's families. And now, coincidentally, she can watch babie's funeral services from her window?

Throughout the entire trial, we are asked by the defense to overlook 'coincidence' after 'coincidence' to avoid LL looking guilty.

It's quite incredible, from my point of view, that BM cast aspersions on Dr Bohin without basis.

It seems to me to be something he contrived out of thin air, just for the purposes of saying they can't trust the medical evidence. Very thin argument, so thin you can't really see it at all for looking. IMO

If the defence was more consistent with science, why didn't they have any scientific experts testify during their case?

Meyers criticised the Crown's experts, but he is not a trained medical expert, so why didn't he bring one in to support his presentation?
Just catching up on everything after being away for a couple of days looking after my poorly child.

I read a post from someone who attended court last week to listen to the defence closing, and they said that Ben Myers is actually regularly referring to a load of research papers which have been submitted into evidence, along with the pathology reports . The reporting is not mentioning the documents he cites, but they do exist and are being referred to.

That, of course doesn’t answer the question of whether what Ben Myers claims the reports say is in fact correct, or indeed whether the thing being referred to in the report is as relevant and strong a point in relation to rebutting the prosecution’s evidence as BM claims, but it does add some colour to what he is saying. From the reporting I read about last week, it does come across as though he is mostly free styling the medical points he is making, but if in fact he is making the points and referring to documents entered into evidence, it makes his closing seem more credible in my opinion.

Ooh just remembered. It's another anniversary.

Five years ago today, LL was sleeping peacefully with her bags of handover sheets, woken by police bashing on her door, and carted away in her leisuresuit.

The problem is, you can find ‘evidence’ for almost anything if you look for it, you can find research papers for anything and everything. It’s whether or not they stand up to scrutiny in the context of these babies is what’s important, and we don’t know if they do. In fact when he put his theories to the experts on the stand during cross-examination, they were often able to give reasons why what he was saying wasn’t applicable, or very unlikely etc. JMO.

I can’t believe we’re nearly at the end. Finally.

I think these are likely to be the research papers used by Dr Bohin and Professor Arthurs, submitted into evidence, which Myers made reference to last Tuesday. Recap: Lucy Letby trial, June 27 - defence closing speech
