Just reading more online about the case of Dr K and found this article from The Guardian from 7 June 1986. It relates to Dr Najada who worked with Dr K, however things had turned sour after she gave him money that was still not repaid, after he lied about not receiving his wages one month.
He talks about receiving bad treatment by police during his interview but also states he wishes he had married Dr K, as he would than have inherited her estate valued at over £200,000 after her death. I know Dr Najada was cleared but thought that was a strange thing to admit while the murder enquiry was still very fresh and ongoing.
Dr Najada was later struck off and convicted of manslaughter for incorrectly diagnosing a patient who subsequently died. He then falsified the medical records to try and cover this up but was caught.
According to a community group on Facebook for the area of Birmingham Danuta lived in, a relation of hers posted that it is more or less certain Najada did the murder and that the police knew but messed up. Technically this is "solved" unofficially. The death had a huge impact on the family, and it took a long while to sort out her estate and belongings because of the horrific nature.
