We are continuing to appeal for the public’s help to find missing woman, Owami Davies from Chafford Hundred.

She was last seen on Wednesday, 6 July in Croydon and her friends and family are growing increasingly concerned.

Owami, 24 is described as a black woman with her hair in two corn rows. She was last seen wearing a black jumper, grey jogging bottoms and a grey cap. She has connections across Thurrock.

Owami has links across the borough of Thurrock, according to Essex Police.

In a statement, the force said: "Detectives investigating the 24-year-old's disappearance are extremely concerned for her welfare and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen her on the night on Wednesday, 6 July, or the early hours of the next day."

Detective Constable Marie Spear, from the Missing Persons Unit in south London, said: "Owami's family have not heard from her for more than three weeks and she has not turned up to work.
"Owami was in a vulnerable state when she was last seen and we need the public's help in piecing together her movements on the night she went missing.”

POLICE are urgently searching for a student nurse who vanished more than three weeks ago.

  • They will remain in custody on 'suspicion of murder'
  • Police have appealed to people in the area to check their sheds and outbuildings

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of a student nurse who vanished almost a month ago.

Owami Davies, 24, was last seen just after midnight on Derby Road, West Croydon on July 7 after leaving her family home on July 4 in Grays, Essex.

But on Monday, two men aged 27 and 23 were arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into her disappearance, Scotland Yard said.

The men, who were arrested in the Croydon area, were taken to a south London police station and will remain in custody.

Announcing the arrests on Monday, the Metropolitan Police said: 'Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are now leading enquiries to locate 24-year-old Owami Davies because they have the resources and expertise required for a complex investigation.

'This remains a missing person's investigation.'

It comes after police appealed to residents of Croydon to check their sheds and outbuildings for anything suspicious after she was last seen in a 'vulnerable state'.

The mother of a “caring” student nurse who has been missing for more than three weeks has urged anyone with information about her disappearance to assist the police investigation.

Owami Davies, 24, of Grays, Essex, left her family home on Monday July 4 and was last seen at 12.03am in Derby Road, West Croydon, south London, on Thursday July 7.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on August 2 at an address in South Croydon and remains in custody.

On August 1, two men, aged 27 and 23, were arrested in the Croydon area in connection with the investigation.

Police have released images of Ms Davies on the night she was last seen in a shop and CCTV of her walking in Derby Road.

Officers want to speak to the driver of a white van that was parked in Derby Road, saying Ms Davies was with a man and crossed the road just as it pulled out.

They say the van driver would have had a good opportunity to see them both clearly and are appealing for this possible witness to come forward.

'Begging for the public’s help'

Speaking at New Scotland Yard on Wednesday, Owami’s mother Nicol Davies said: “It is obvious that someone out there has seen something, someone out there knows something, someone out there heard something.

“I am begging, I am asking for the public’s help, from the people, to say if you know, if you have heard or seen her, or she passed you, please speak up. All we really want is to find her, all we really need is for her to come home or to know her whereabouts

“I sit here as a desperate mother at the mercy of anyone that knows or heard something to help me find my baby, that’s all I’m asking, just help to find her.”

She added: “Or her, if she’s somewhere and hears this, to please come home.

“We miss her so much, her brothers and myself miss her, need her.

“We are not complete, we just want her to come home and, again, if she is listening she should know she’s not in trouble.”

Very interesting CCTv footage, u have a bit of distance between the 2 persons at the end.

Student nurse Owami Davies was captured on CCTV in the company of a man on the night she was last seen alive.

The Metropolitan Police says the footage shows them crossing Derby Road in West Croydon, south London, just after midnight on 7 July.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of the 24-year-old's murder.

Her mum Nicol said: "This is such a terrible time for all those who love Owami and I am pleading for anyone who can help find her to contact police."

Two men, aged 23 and 27, were arrested on Monday and a third man, aged 32, was arrested on Tuesday.

A property on Derby Road has been cordoned off, as police spent much of Wednesday searching it.

Nicol Davies said: "There are many friends and family who love and care for Owami and all of them want to see her safe return.

"Every day we hope to hear the news that Owami is coming back to us; your help might make it so."

In particular, officers are keen to speak to the driver of a white van that was parked in Derby Road.

Police said Ms Davies and the man she was with crossed the street "just as the van pulled out".

"The van driver would have had a good opportunity to see them both clearly and officers are appealing this possible witness to come forward," a statement said.

I agree. The police appeals describe her as being "in the company of" a man but personally I would have described it more as "being followed by", unless I'm mistaken about which of them is which (which I may be).

The CCTV is from a static position, so I think there must be more footage of the two figures than has been released publicly, based on the distance they cover with each image jump. It would be interesting to know if it's been cut just to highlight the vehicles that may have witnessed something, or whether something happened next that's been suppressed for the time being for operational reasons.

I can't find any updates yet on whether the arrested men are still in custody, given there would have to have been a PACE extension by now. The timing of the renewed appeal (more than 24 hours after the third arrest) makes me wonder if the police have lacked enough evidence for a charge.

Further appeal to trace missing woman Owami Davies

Watching that cctv I feel like the man is following her and is trying to make some type of conversation with her. It seems like she is not interested and tries to get across the road quickly. I could be wrong but I feel like she is trying to escape whoever that is.
