Skibs we've been on a few cases together now and like I've said before I'm a self confessed hard nosed c ow yet every now and again I have to take a step back because I realise that I just can't take any more of a particular case..I've not reached that point yet here even though I've felt sick to my stomach so yeah, I do wonder if you become desensitised over time

It's hard at times isn't it. Its the forensics and psychology of crimes that pulls me in. I started with the Casey Anthony Trial, and like you tend to follow the big ones or UK ones. I think when we're sleuthing we try and stay neutral to look at the 'whole' picture, almost like a juror would. I try not to pre-judge and I love that WS is taken quite seriously and doesn't allow chinese whispers or gossip. I think all of us are respectful of the Victim and families. But every now and then, just when you think you've heard the worst something else comes. It is hard not be emotional when it's a child or someone vulnerable. I appreciate everyones input with this case it has been a pleasure to sleuth with you all. I hope we get a fair trial and a very long sentence for those found Guilty!:loveyou:

Makeup found on Both DIY masks, but SH's DNA has been found on only one of them (as far as I have read). :

The court hears DNA belonging to defendant Shauna Hoare was found on one of the safety masks found at the property.

The prosecution say the chances it wasn’t her DNA are around 390,000 to one.

He's not, he was bailed and is going into court daily. not sure about JI though.

I don't know - I studied criminal law for 2 semesters when studying law - but technically given the circumstances. People have been saying that JP, the D brothers and JI are guilty because they should have known what was in the shed etc well it's very similar to SP isn't is...she was told there was suspicious packages in shed, JP was worried and given everything that was going on at the time surely she should have reported it. Idk? Is it an offence?

No, I don't think anyone would be guilty because they "should have known". They would be guilty if it was proved that they DID know. And all they need to have known is that it was something illegal, not necessarily a body. That's why KD & JP have wisely pleaded guilty. With the amount of money being offered, and the reason for the concealment, ie the police about to search NM's house, they must have known that it was illegal items.

SP on the other hand has played no part in the presence of whatever-it-was in the shed. She has not agreed to store anything for anyone.

I'm not completely ruling out the possibility of Becky being sexuality assaulted. Jamie Reynolds was only charged with murder but after Georgia's death he had spent hours abusing her

No. I'm not. I'm really struggling to find a case where somebody was sexually assualted/raped and charged for that as well as their murder in the UK.

Hello, I have been reading the comments on this thread for a while now, and thought I'd say hi, and thanks for everyone's interesting posts about this horrific case....

I live in Bristol, so it really is very close to home...all the details about what happened to Becky that have come out in the trial are so incredibly distressing, can't imagine how it must be for her family and friends.... it's just like something out of a horror movie - I mean, just knowing that there this kind of things can happen, and in the city I live in, it's just crazy.

I know we haven't heard all the evidence yet....but how can SH keep her plea to not guilty when we have heard that there is her DNA & Make-up on the masks. How can she go through the trial sticking to that story that she didn't know anything about it? Why doesn't she just tell the truth....??!

Yes it was me who saw the photo on a family members FB...I just thought it was a coincidence as they were 'newborn' in August so the timing would fit. I know when AG asked Police to find out she was told..."All they need to know is I am no longer pregnant". She may well have lost or aborted them, I just haven't seen it confirmed anywhere.

I would think if you can find out on FB the family easily could. No disrespect intended.
I kind of hope they were not born as one day they will have to deal with learning where they came from.

It just astonishes me the reporting of a lack of emotion from SH and NM.....to me that speaks volumes of their mindset!

If it's been proven that she wore one or two of the face masks which were disposed off with the rest of the things, that were implicated in this.... then wouldn't that alone prove beyond reasonable doubt that she was aware of what had happened - it just wouldn't prove she actually was involved with killing poor Becky....

They have also been charged with four counts of making indecent images of children, though this does not relate to Becky Watts.

Matthews will additionally be forced to answer a single charge of sexual assault and voyeurism, again not in relation to Becky.

I wonder how many victims NM has accumulated over the years? He is a sexual deviant and rapist before he assaulted and killed poor Becky! Children are not safe anywhere near this man!! He doesn't belong in society!

If SH is involved in making indecent images of children, she also doesn't deserve to be anywhere near children or in society for that matter!

Poor Becky was set up by this pair, who knows how long they fantasied about harming Becky?!

Kelly Lee, who works as a supervisor at B&Q in Bristol, served Matthews on February 20 and described him questioning the price of an £80 circular saw.

A receipt showed Matthews paid £88.40 for four items &#8211; a circular saw, gloves, face masks and goggles &#8211; at 12.51pm.

A next-door neighbour of Matthews and Hoare said they were usually “very, very quiet” but described hearing noises coming from their house the night before Becky died.

“There was shouting and screaming between Shauna and Nathan,” Sarah Webb said.

“It was for more than half an hour. It was very unusual. They were very, very quiet people. We never heard bumps or banging or people on the stairs. We often thought that they weren’t actually in.”

The following afternoon, Mrs Webb said, she heard further noises from the property.

“There was lots of running up and down the stairs very, very quickly, banging, slamming doors, scraping, furniture being moved, a suitcase being rolled across a wooden floor which was upstairs,” she told the court.
