This is what one of the Detective Constables said in court about the first time they entered NM and SH's house. That poor toddler must have been in the room next to a bathroom with no door while this went on, can't bear to think about it myself.

She said the home had a "catty" smell, with rubbish bags piled all around.

The clutter extended upstairs, she said, where in the front room Shauna Hoare was sat on the double bed.

DC Aruthan told Bristol Crown Court: "The bedroom was the main living area, piled high with clutter.

"Next to the bed was a toaster, kettle and ketchup."

It sounds like they mainly lived in their bedroom when at home and lived off toast and takeaways. Also seems likely to me that they did spend a lot of time at AG's. I had wondered if it was normal for them to hang around there all day as the did the day Becky was killed.

Nathan describes Becky as "rude" and "demanding"

Nathan told police he and Becky bonded over her dad Darren because “he annoyed her and me”. Nathan says he bought an XBox off Becky which had a broken controller. He ended up selling it back to Becky.

He said: “She never talked to me about her friends or what-not.
“I’d overhear when she was telling my mum about somebody grabbing her *advertiser censored*** - and maybe I would take the p***.
“That’s we did in our family - I did it to Shauna a lot.”

Asked how Becky would react to his teasing, he said: “It depends what mood she was in. She might say something about my height or say: ‘Oh mum, Nathan’s being mean’.”

Nathan describes Becky as "self centred" in is police interview and says he didn't believe she had anorexia and was doing it for attention

Nathan says Becky asked her step-mum to phone social services so she could live somewhere else

Talking further about his relationship with Becky, Matthews told police: “Obviously we are civil and sometimes we can bond about *****ing - but we don’t go to the cinema or anything like that and I don’t have her on Facebook.”

Asked about Becky’s relationship with her dad Darren, Matthews said: “Not good, she leaves plates out and he has thrown her out a couple of times but he has never hit her or anything.

“Becky spends a lot of time in her bedroom but then Darren will shout up and say: ‘I’m making a curry and all the trimmings - do you want some’. So they get on.”

Nathan continued: “She has no respect for money or electrical items. She had a lap-top - broke it. She had a phone - broke it.
“The anorexia thing, she stopped eating but I don’t believe it’s a condition. She passed out or feinted and my mum said they were thinking of keeping her locked up. The next thing she is stuffing her face with crisps and she is taking Darren’s crisps.

“She would have liked the fact she lost weight because she wanted to lose weight.”
Nathan says Becky received more attention when she had anorexia and felt special.

I'm pretty sure it's not normal for a dad to write his teenage kid out of his will? (if true!)

Just catching up here ......... surely, if it is not true, then evidence will be given by AG to that effect ? Presumably by way of a statement as she clearly is not going to be a witness, having been in court already

Nathan told police he was jobless during the interview.
He said: “I was working a cash in hand job just delivering Chinese - delivering food.
“I’m not doing it no more.

“I sent a text to my boss and said: ‘Can’t come in, my car’s broken down’. I’d had enough of working there anyway.

“It was the one just round the corner from Shauna’s house - Law Kitchen.
“I worked Wednesday half five till half ten and then the same thing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday.”

Says said he worked his last shift for the food outlet in the days before Becky went missing

He continued: “I got fed up with it.

“I found out the other drivers were getting paid more than me.

“Also what was the other thing - I think I turned up five minutes late and he said: ‘Hurry up, you’ve got all these deliveries backed up’.

“Obviously it’s a lot of stress with all this - people going missing and everything.

“But I do want to find another job.

“It’s all a lot of wear and tear on my car because my clutch is going.”

Matthews said he had been to a pain clinic because his shoulder hurt - experts said it was down to a chemical imbalance.

He said: “All my jobs have been deliveries apart from Sainsbury’s when I killed my back.”

Nathan told police he 'didn't know' of anything that could have triggered Beckys disappearance.

Nathan was asked in the police interview if he had helped search for Becky since she vanished.

He said: “Nobody has even told me there were searches.

“I haven’t actually gone out to search, no.

“Obviously I’ve gone out to the shop but I haven’t seen her on the way.

“Nobody seems to notify us of what’s going on.

“It’s one of those things, you’ve got to wait.

“I’ve noticed the papers say everything’s different kind of things.

“She (Becky) doesn’t talk to me about her life - the things she does.

“The day before Becky went missing she went out and didn’t let my mum know where she was.”

Nathan was asked if there was any conversation that might have caused Becky to go away.

He replied: “I can’t remember the last time I actually spoke to Becky. As I say there was the *****ing.

“I don’t even know when the last time I texted her was - it might have been once in the last six months or something.”

Nathan says: 'I didn't particularly like Becky'

NM and SH apparently didn't know there were any searches going on. For a missing person. Really?

Didn't SH send him a text in the days after Beckys disappearance asking if he was still working? And that was early afternoon...

I can't see a door either and I also can't see how a door would swing conveniently given the configuration of other doors and stairs nearby. In the US some houses have pocket doors, ones that slide out from (and into) the wall. Could that be a possibility in their flat?

Do we know when the photos were taken? I think they were taken awhile ago, close to when Becky was murdered but I haven't seen anything indicating an actual timeframe. I don't think the police removed the door. The jurors were warned that the entire contents of the NM/SH home was removed, even the tub, and put back (though not necessarily as it was nor in the same room). They also stated that the tub was not completely re-seated when it was put back. The tub in the pictures looks to be undisturbed, so to speak, and therefore, IMO, the picture was taken BEFORE the police removed the tub. That then begs the question...would the police have taken a photo after they remove a door but before they remove a tub? I believe that there was no door on the bathroom in the first place.

There is one picture out there which shows the NM/SH flat boarded up. Maybe all of the photos were taken right before the contents were removed then the removal commenced and the windows were boarded up. Maybe all of the photos are from varying stages in the investigation.

I, like you, am trying to figure out how any dismembering could have gone on in that tiny house, let alone in a bathroom without a door, over the course of a few days without SH knowing EXACTLY what was going on. Absolutely impossible!

Perhaps they took the door off once forensics had finished with it, to allow more space for the forensics team and the photographers to work in the bathroom. It doesnt look as though they moved the stack of rubbish in the bathroom, so I imagine space was at a premium.

Edit to add .................. Just see Jessie's post above - there never was a door

I think some1 already mentioned up thread that we think the 'Job' she was referring to was buying the stuff to help with disposal of becky.

NM also changing from present to past tense when talking about Becky.

Nathan is asked again if anything that would have triggered disappearance " I don't know, she doesn't really talk to me about her life."

Says night before Becky went missing she went out. "I can't really remember the last time I actually spoke to Becky."Did text in past on phones"

"If I say the maximum I text her would be like once every 6 months or something but I don't know what it would have been texting."

Jury hearing Shauna was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping Becky watts at her mother's home. She told police she didn't know where the teen was

The van wasn't around for long, but as I recall it, KD and JI first left work in JI's car. They picked up NM and SH from her mother's and took them to Cotton Mill Lane.

Then for some reason one or both of them went back to work to get the van and then used the van to move the packages and then back to work.

It will be interesting to find out why they made the decision to get the van, would the packages not fit in the car at all, even if it had taken a couple of trips it would have been quicker than going back for the van. Were they concerned about leaving evidence in the car?
Did they not want the van to be seen at SH's mother's and so always plan to use two different vehicles.

I'd also like to hear fro KD and JI what SH was up to when they were deliberating what vehicle to use and when they were moving the packages, was she involved, or did she disappear off to bed or something before they got down to it?

My guess is they - KD and JI - thought their car would be enough to do the job - but , as you say, packages not fitting would be reason to need a larger vehicle - plus the risk of contamination - fine for a work van which could not be linked to them ( presumably ? ) but not good for their own car/s.

I would guess SH was indoors with the child

Now hearing how Nathan was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping Becky - to all questions about her whereabouts he now answers "no comment"

Police officer Russell Saunders told how he went to the house in plain clothes with another officer who was wearing a body cam which was recording.

Mr Saunders said: “Nathan Matthews was playing a video game on a wall mounted television and did not acknowledge us when we came into the house.

“Shauna Hoare was cooking eggs on a cooker in the kitchen. I asked her to stop cooking so I could speak to her safely.

“I said I had something to tell her she may find upsetting.

“At 3.25pm I said: ‘I’m arresting you on suspicion of the kidnap of Rebecca Watts.

“ ‘You were at the house at the time she stopped communicating.’”
“I cautioned her. Hoare made no reply.
“I noticed Hoare had tears forming in her eyes. She did not cry openly but she was clearly upset.
“She didn’t ask if Nathan Matthews or anyone else was being arrested.”
