what is ******y - I can only think of bully but that wouldn't be blanked out

In the UK, "b-i-t-c-h-i-n-g" means grumbling or complaining, particularly about another person.
And a b-i-t-c-h, colloquially, is someone who habitually does that, or is two-faced, or openly rude to someone's face.

It surprises me that this word is considered so unacceptable nowadays. When I was young it was a commonly used and fairly mild word, and people of my generation still use it freely. Yet we aren't even able to use it on here in its literal meaning of female dog.

[h=3]Matthews 'went to see doctor about mental state'[/h]Hoare said Matthews had been to see a doctor about his mental state.
She said: “But I never thought he would take it that far. I know he can get angry and obviously he has been violent and aggressive to me but I never thought he would lose his mind to do something like that.
“If that was his intent to just scare her like that is just so twisted and wrong. I don’t understand his logic, his theory, his justification for doing.
“How could he think if I found out about it - if anybody found out about it he would be screwed.
“I couldn’t live in a house knowing he had just viciously killed somebody who in my mind - in everyone’s mind - didn’t deserve it.
“You can imagine the suffering she went through - how scared she was and to know I was right there.
“She deserved to live her life. She didn’t do anything wrong. She was not always the nicest person but she didn’t do anything bad.”
“I just don’t understand any of it.”

I have followed a lot of crime on here, years, and years. I can be judgmental on who I may think is responsible for someone's disappearance or murder, and keep it to myself. But this case, the more and more I hear, it wouldn't surprise me if NM did think it would be a good idea to kidnap Becky to teach her a lesson. The idea is so ridiculous and out there, that in his mind it probably all made sense. I have kept telling myself not to believe SH, but now I'm leaning that she didn't know. Every answer she is giving, may sound out there, but at the same time I can see myself being like her. What I mean by that, my husband is always doing repairs and work in the house, I have no idea what he is doing, if he told me he was using a saw to cut pipes, I'd believe that. I know nothing about that stuff, and if he is keeping busy, and not constantly chattering and asking me questions, I'm good with that. In my case he is retired, and I'm glad he has something to do, in her case, supposedly, she doesn't question, she doesn't want to set him off. If there isn't more evidence pointing to her, that is where I stand right now, she may have been suspicious, and that's that. But, I have been wrong many times before.

SH says she wouldn't have questioned what NM was doing. 'There was no reason to believe he was lying' #beckywatts

Hmmm....is this her saying she DID think things were odd or strange but was too scared to ask?

Magistrates extension of custody before charging?

Under Section 44 of PACE 1984; my understanding is that suspects may appear at the hearing to grant an extension to custody from a magistrate but that it is also OK to furnish the suspect with a copy of what a constable( under oath) will say with regard to why the investigation requires the suspect to be held for longer. In practice, because of the cost implications (escort officers/transport), the police's preferred option is just to send an officer to court to apply.

Ok so she may or may not have seen him at magistrates court when the extension was granted. I don't remember if we were told if they appeared in person at the extension hearing or not. If they appeared together in person, it could account for her saying "I felt sick looking at him - knowing what he had done."

Who does she mean here, when she says "in everyone's mind, she didn't deserve it?". Surely once she found out that Becky was dead, she wasn't in a position to be talking to people regarding what people thought about what had happened? She said herself that she had no friends, so is she talking about actual people who told her that Becky didn't deserve what had happened to her? Or is it just a phrase?

Hoare told police Matthews had never spoken about teaching Becky a lesson for her behaviour to his mum Anjie.
She said: “I thought he was b i t c h y. He b i t c h e s about so much stuff all the time. I thought it was just another reason to moan.
“To my knowledge he has never done anything to him or Anjie that would justify in his twisted mind doing something to her.
“Why he would think this would be a good idea - ‘let’s go and scare someone half to death’ - I don’t know.
“He can get very wound up very quickly, he is very black and white.”

I wonder where she got the phrase "let's go and scare someone half to death"??

Has NM ever said it? It makes me wonder ifNM said it to her - before going to RW's that day?

All of the evidence heard so far this morning comes from transcripts of police interviews with SH following her arrest

Twitter question to JonKay

do you know if NM or SH will take the stand?

@********* Hi there. The jury has not been given that information.

So much speculation here about the way SH is wording things. She has her own mind, I think debating about her choice of words (unless you have some sort of specific psychological profiling training etc) is kind of pointless.

Its getting to the point where I can't read the comment thread on FB. People are SO EAGER to believe that SH is guilty. To the point of reading it being uncomfortable. They seem to be getting some sick thrill out of pulling the girl to pieces, without even the slightest consideration she could be innocent. It's like a public execution.

Oops, sorry, bit later than intended than actually posting that reply; got distracted.

This is pure speculation but I can't help but wonder whether SH being charged with murder in June was due to NM providing further info/dropping SH in it. I know the press reported something about further specialist investigation but this could be investigation into an NM "tip-off". MOO

Well if so, we've yet to hear it as part of the prosecution's case and it's due to close this afternoon...

I feel the same about the FB comments. Too many people saying she should be hung when it seems the evidence hasn't been listened to at all. I don't see how it could be when they are expressing that she is guilty with such certainty!

Oh dear....

In a lot of these cases , the female will do exactly what SH is doing ...I don't believe for a moment she had no idea what was going on ...MOO she was involved and knew what was going on , I also don't believe she was as controlled by him as she was letting on ...they're plan was ..if caught , he took the fall .Rose West ..Karla Homolka also claimed to have no knowledge ..people also fell for that until it was obvious
