Sarah Everard murder: Emma B says Wayne Couzens exposed himself to her.

The Magic FM DJ - who is also known as Emma B - said he exposed himself to her when she walked past an alleyway in Greenwich, south-east London, in 2008.

She told BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour she recognised him when she saw his photo in news reports.

The Met Police is investigating the presenter's complaint.

[..]

The police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), is looking into the Met's handling of three other alleged indecent exposure incidents involving Couzens, including two said to have taken place in south London three days before he murdered Ms Everard.

The other allegation centres around a report of how Kent Police investigated a claim in 2015. Details of a car linked to Couzens had been passed on to police but he was not identified.

[..]

The Met Police said at the time, that a search of the area was conducted but the suspect could not be found. CCTV inquiries were unsuccessful and the matter was passed on to the local safer neighbourhoods team for intelligence.

The force added that to the best of its knowledge, it was "not aware" of any reports before his March arrest where he had been named as a suspect.

It said if it received any allegations it would investigate.

Radio DJ Emma B claims Wayne Couzens flashed her and police 'laughed' when she reported it

October 12, 2021 4:30 pm

Radio DJ Emma Wilson has claimed Wayne Couzens flashed her 13 years ago and that Metropolitan Police Service officers “laughed” in her face when she reported it.

[..]

The radio presenter said she was pushing her son in his pram when a man she believes was Couzens called out to her and exposed himself.

She described running into a shop to raise the alarm and that police went to her home and took a statement.

[..]

The Met said at the time that a search of the area was conducted but the suspect could not be found.

CCTV inquiries were unsuccessful and the matter was referred to the local safer neighbourhoods team for intelligence.

A Metropolitan Police Service spokesperson said: “In terms of it being Wayne Couzens to the best of our knowledge we are not aware of any reports prior to his March arrest when he was named as a suspect.

Sarah Everard’s killer given nuclear green light by police after checks

10/23/21

Sarah Everard’s killer Wayne Couzens was given the green light to join the Civil Nuclear Constabulary after Thames Valley Police carried out vetting checks on him in 2011.

The 48-year-old police constable, who was given a life sentence this month for Ms Everard’s abduction, rape and murder, joined the nuclear police that year – having previously served as a special constable with Kent Police.

Thames Valley Police was responsible then as now for carrying out recruitment vetting checks for the CNC, the organisation responsible for policing the UK’s nuclear power stations.

Sarah Everard's murderer PC Wayne Couzens launches APPEAL against sentence

10/27/2021

In October Couzens joined the grim ranks of criminals in the UK who will die behind bars after receiving a whole life tariff.

But according to The Mirror, Couzens will be appealing his rare whole-life term.

A court official said: "We have been notified that an appeal has been lodged by Mr Couzens."

Lord Justice Fulford imposed the rare order, which just 61 criminals in the UK have, as he abused his position as a police officer.

Couzens also became the first British cop to ever receive the sentence.
