Met Police face fresh cover-up claims over Sarah Everard killer PC Wayne Couzens

It's because the criminal proceedings have not yet been concluded. It says so in the article, so I don't know why the media should be making a thing out of it. Once the investigations have been completed, and he's been sentenced, it can all be reported.

BBC article

Sarah Everard murder: Wayne Couzens falsely arrested and handcuffed victim

The article includes more information emerging, including that her "arrest" was seen by passers by, but they had no reason at the time to think it was anything but an arrest.

The article has further information on his movements after tha kidnap, and how he attempted to dispose of the body

"The prosecutor said her murder was reported on social media as #shewasonlywalkinghome but the more appropriate five words to describe what Couzens did were "deception, kidnap, rape, strangulation and fire""

Edited to add - the article is reporting day 1 of a 2-day sentencing hearing. Sentence is expected to be handed down tomorrow, and the judge is considering a whole life tariff

Sarah Everard: Wayne Couzens took family on trip to woods where he burnt marketing executive's body, court told | UK News | Sky News

Rest in peace Sarah, the facts of this case are horrifying, so much trauma caused to all. Sarah, You are remembered as a person who was human, trusted those we are led to believe are people who will help us, or are abiding by the law, your life was robbed by a monster but your memory is one that will change the future.

This article highlights that WC retraced and revisited his crime scenes with his family, to the woods and to the service station. Monsterous to put that onto his family and children.

Having followed the case on WS at the time, it is shocking to see the CCTV in the DM article and hear what actually happened...much of which came up in those earlier threads as to what could have happened...utterly heartbreaking. Can see now how the police tracked him so quickly as it is clearly hear standing with him by the car - it was not even back into the flats/or behind the trees - he was so brazened. Her mum says every night around the time it happens she silently screams "Run Sarah run" - and from the CCTV can see she would have had a chance, but obviously believed he was arresting her legitimately:(
