No need for us to find DNA labs. After my meeting with police today, we will not need to do that. Same with lip balm. Read between the lines.
sarx, the McLeans had just arrived in Aberfeldy the Friday before the Sunday vanishing. I'm quite sure that that she had no prior familiarity with trails. I really doubt that she had any trail maps with her; they tend to drive to sights on vacations, not hike. Yes, Susan walked the week earlier at Oban, and now in Aberfeldy. However, those were spur of the moment.
We've ruled out the chance of her catching the summer circuit bus "Ring of Breadalbane" that goes along Crieff Road. While the timing is close, with a pickup in Aberfeldy at 8:24 and another south along Crieff Rd at Griffin Forest at 20:36, all drivers say "no pick ups there/then" to the police. It's looking like the bus had gone by before Susan left Moness.
Regarding the 3 backpackers, no, there was no immediate connect from the helicopter crew to ground police to go talk to them. Now the word is that if the hikers have seen or heard about the missing American they would notify the police. Sure isn't a high index of suspicion in this country.
Has anybody talked about the non-sighting? After the first two sightings (lower Crieff, just up from Moness; and at Gatehouse) at about 7:47 and 8:00, there is a reliable report that Susan was NOT seen on Crieff Road by a driver who passed that stretch of road at 8:20. So we've narrowed her disappearance from Crieff Rd to the time between 8 and 8:20pm. Tomorrow I will walk from Gatehouse to see how far I can go in 20 minutes, as well as IF there is an easy entrance into Griffin Forest on the east (left) side of Crieff Rd.
