wonder what the husband ((on trial)) has to say about those allegations?

Well, he said his wife was a fantasist and made stories up, but he also said he believed her allegations of abuse.

Anyone remember when I asked upthread if the Ws had possibly downgraded from London, with a hefty cash profit?

Seems like that's exactly what they had done. And Susan said in her police statement how her mother acused her of 'dragging her away from London. That set alarms ringing for me.

'She also said that she had paid for half of the Wycherleys’ former London home, but her father had later forced her to sign her name off the deeds.

“They didn’t seem to have a relationship. I never saw her wear a wedding ring and there was nothing between them. My father said that I had made their house in London intolerable for him - he said he had terrible memories and he had to get away.'

I think Susan Edwards is telling the truth in her testimony, in amongst a lot of fabrication. I think she and Christopher drove parents out of London, so they had a lot of cash in the bank, then killed them when they didn't die quick enough, in the sticks. In my opinion.

Susan said her Dad 'forced' her to sign her name off the deeds of his house, but I'm wondering if he paid her to.

The last update I can find for this trial is June 13th, when Susan Edwards told how much she hated her father, wrapped the gun and disposed of it in the town, and 'forced' her husband to help her bury the bodies.

Maybe the jury has gone out to reach a verdict now, and that's why there's no news. It's very frustrating though.

Most frustrating case I've followed for thorough reporting!

from the link

“She was drinking and he was horrible - he said on a few occasions that he didn’t want me in the house.”

the mother -- sounded ''off center'' to me --- was thinking initially she was either mentally ill or showed signs of dementia from her comments to her daughter. Some folks are just down right nasty -- her mom sounds like one.

Further to that it sounds like a very toxic relationship and the daughter got sucked into it.

I think you need to remember that the only source for all this is the daughter. There is no reason to believe a word of it. The parents are unable to give their side of the story.

Right you are!!! mea culpa

Closing speeches yesterday and the jury is considering its verdict, which could come in today.

'Prosecutors have called a husband and wife who are on trial for the murder of her parents “two of the world’s most accomplished liars”.

In his closing speech to Nottingham Crown Court, Peter Joyce QC said the couple showed “not a hint of regret, not a hint of remorse, not a hint of anything except pity for themselves” and claimed “they will do anything for money”. '

'But in closing the defence, Dafydd Enoch QC, representing Christopher Edwards, said his client was “telling the truth” and was “genuinely shocked” when he found out his wife had opened up accounts on May 5.

He said: “I hardly know what to say. What we have heard from Mr Joyce has been a piece of sensationalism.'

It would have been more accurate for me to say,

based on daughter's testimony.....

and I do agree, the deceased cannot defend themselves.

The Nottingham Post rocks! They've bothered to give a full update.

The jury is still out and have been sent home for the day, to continue considering its verdict tomorrow.

I guess there must doubt over whether the Edwards are guilty or not, as it's taking so long? Or maybe the jury is uncertain which of them is guilty of what?

I wish we knew more about where Susan said she got the gun from. Maybe I missed that.

She said that it was her mother's and she managed to get hold of it during an altercation with her Mum after she found her Dad shot dead, if I remember rightly.

WWII colt if I recall correctly
