Okay you all say "probably no meth use" but come on -- how long does it take to get to that level of decay? Who is to say she didn't just start using?? I sincerely doubt you go from pearly whites to rot after the first hit. But, I don't know anything about drugs because I don't use them.

I wouldn't say "probably" no meth use. Only that because there are other possible causes, we shouldn't limit our search to just probable drug users.

In a year or two, easy. Google image search "faces of meth" and "meth mouth". Some of them become unrecognizable.

ETA: also depends what kind of shape her teeth were in before she became an addict. I already have bad teeth, if I started smoking meth, I'd probably look like a jack-o-lantern in under a year.

When I first started reading about Train Jane I kept on thinking about Kara. While Kara does look a lot like Train Jane, I would think if she was Kara that maybe she would of had been identified by now, but I could always be wrong. JMO

I can see where the jane doe and Regina look alike, but the lower back tattoo on Regina throws it off.

What about April McCaslin , missing from Tulsa, OK on /around Feb. 24, 2012 as Jane "Train" Doe? Her Namus page is NAMUS MP 16981. She told a relative in a phone call on the 24th that "people were bothering me and wouldn't leave me alone", and has not been heard from since. April is on the upper end of Jane Train Doe's age range.
The photo of Jane Train Doe shows a very gaunt and pinched lower face, but what if that gauntness was due to severe dehydration or some sort of substance abuse and in life her lower face was a little bit fuller, more of an oval or square than a severe triangle shape? If "people are bothering me and won't leave me alone..." it seems likely that she could have decided to disappear with no ID or warning.
BTW I live near Las Vegas and this case has received very little local coverage. I actually found about it through WS.

Has there been some coverage? I sent the tip to a contact in Las Vegas media, but he wasn't sure there was enough to make a story from.

April is an interesting suggestion. I think she resembles Jane and the circumstances are good but I don't think this is her because:

She has fingerprints on file from several arrests.
She is 10 years over the high end of the age range and she looks it.
In Namus, she is described as having a "straight smile" which would seem to preclude some of the crookedness in Jane's teeth. I wouldn't dismiss her just on that, but taken together, she seems like a long shot.

Has there been ANY coverage of Jane in your area? I wish we could get the word out there.

I looked at that too. However I zoomed and it looks more like a shadow to me. I would hope if she had a tattoo in such a distinguishing place that it would have been reported. JMO

No coverage that I am aware of. Not even in the alternative weekly papers, which is surprising. Vegas is a magnet for tourists from the Pacific NW, AZ, Cali, NM ,UT and HI, especially on 3-4 day weekends. There is also a hippie type commune about an hour from Vegas that has been here since the 1960's. Someone has got to recognize that tattoo. When I saw it, I thought it was very creative- it reminded me of a Native American dreamcatcher-the pot leaves are the feathers on the dreamcatcher. Maybe Jane designed it herself?
I keep thinking Jane Train Doe grew up in what we would call" alternative": vegetarian, outdoors a lot, possibly homeschool or unschooled ( yes that is a teaching method of sorts), chakra reading, shamanism, the books of Carlos Castaneda, etc.
Could Jane have suffered from a skin disease called roseacea-it is similar to acne and is often mistaken for acne? It is controlled by medicine, but like acne, there are outbreaks, it subsides, and then comes back.
I keep thinking JD is from the Pacific Northwest, Southwest, or Florida- traditional pot leaves are more popular in the Midwest then Jamaican style.

Not to be gross, but I know many women who don't bother to shave their legs between November and March, since they're not wearing shorts. I will take the 5th on that one.
