“Continuing Our Search for Dylan Sunday June 12th”
We will be gathering again at the local park in Montello, NV. on Sunday June 12th at 7 AM PST/8 AM MST for check in.

Same requests from prior notice -- come prepared, etc. However, there has been a change in tone regarding Elko County Sheriff where no more requests to flood them calls but instead, thanks and praise for a job well done assisting w/search on Saturday, etc.

Somebody asked earlier about the reported hoax in Montello and why false leads, and reminded me about another missing person case I've been following since June 2021 of a missing snowboard instructor missing in Wyoming (Dubliner Cian McLaughlin). McLaughlin was last known to be hiking in Gran Teton Nat'l Park.

It's just been reported that an alleged eyewitness for this case was banned from the park for five years and ordered to pay a fine of $17,600 (€16,603) to the Department of Treasury for providing a false account of meeting Cian McLaughlin on the day of his disappearance and fabricated a conversation with him in which he said he was traveling to a specific part of Grand Teton National Park.

Witnesses told the parks service that Mycoskie apparently fabricated the sighting to ensure search efforts continued after park rangers announced they would scale back the search.

It happens!

I was following that on media, his mum just went out there again.
She sent the search party off in a different direction!
Her excuse seemed feeble to that end.

DR had no enemies, that we know of.
Yet some level of malice is present in that community.

Boots.
Suppose he removed them, himself?
He sorted the grain AFAIK.
It's possible he sustained a leg or foot injury, no that won't wear. The two boots were there, unlikely he'd injure both feet, unless he was struck by a vehicle or a weapon?
Other scenario, boots got very wet, he set them out in the sun to dry while he had a snooze behind the mound, being tired from a late night followed by an early morning?
Truck broke down?
I don't really believe those theories, just grasping at straws, wanting to fix things for a happy ending..

Was having a rest with boots drying nicely in the sun when somebody rolled up and offered him a drive home?

Eta
Wondering whether boot closures were undone?

This is a phrase we hear so often in these cases. Yet, we often find that victims do have enemies whether the cause is jealousy, revenge, money, or some perceived wrongdoing.
Dylan has hired workers at various times to help him work the farm. We know he has fired at least one person fairly recently. What other people might carry a grudge against Dylan?
Dylan’s mom, by her own admission, was the one who called ECSO to report that her son was being held hostage. She did this because someone told her that. This poor woman is being fed all kinds of rumors and lies and she clings to every one of them. Why? Because it brings her hope.
For whatever reason, CC seems to believe that Montello is the center of the case. We were told initially that Dylan had no friends, no outside hobbies, no significant other. The farm was everything to him. And that’s okay. But now we know he went into town regularly. He did socialize. He sometimes stayed over in Montello. Well, he had to stay somewhere. Was it with someone?
As @MassGuy said up thread, there’s definitely more going on than we have privy to at this point.

Definitely.
Could even be an employee from a previous year..
Nursing a grudge and having support to carry out a heinous crime.
I speculate more than one person was involved.
Devastating, isn't it?

I don't believe these searches will bear fruit.
Too well planned.

Is there a silo on the farm?

Doesn't have to be a silo -- entrapment can happen in a grain truck:

Happens fast. Hate to ask -- has anyone checked the seed truck?

They did check it according to admin on official fb page

If this was well planned, what did the perp(s) try to make it look like to draw attention away from themselves? Were they simply going for "no body, no crime"? There are possible signs of a cleanup. A total stranger passing through the area wouldn't bother with that. IF the perp(s) is/are talking now, what are the chances they'll be caught in a lie soon? I wish we knew where the farm workers (who could have been witnesses) were on Saturday. How did others know nobody else would be there?

Did Dylan take his boots off to go to town with a ride, changing into another pair of shoes?
Why leave them outside?
Why would he not leave them in the truck?
Are they left behind as a statement? He's done with the whole farm life?
Of all things to say foul play, this boot factor seems really out there. I'm lost.

Skunk maybe? Or some other strong odor? Wet, and left in the sun to dry?

Mystery person wore them to powerwash the truck & left them to dry out of sight?

I'm always looking for dots to connect -- and have been known to create a few when we don't have enough.

A lot of boots, especially farming type boots, simply pull on and off.

He just had one pair. His mother told us that in her interview.
same brand, same style, all his life and he would wear them until they were bust. He had replaced his last pair relatively recently.
That reads as tho' he was eccentric but I wore the same style doc martens year after year, only the colours varied.
I got a lovely sense of nurturing from his parents.
They loved him enough to let him be who he was.
His way.
Great love and utter respect.

Wait. The truck was found by the shed? I thought it was parked at the trailer?
This is what I thought @OldCop. What the heck. I have to rethink about things now. I was trying to picture a scenario where Dylan would have walked back to his home/trailer barefoot and why. And why he would have walked five miles out there in the first place. But if his truck was out there, how did it get pressure washed? Because if it had been driven after being washed it should be obvious in that terrain. I’m so confused by this case. MOO

BBM. Wait, what? I didn’t know that. I must have missed something!

Wonder if the boots were the “old” ones that had not been discarded as yet?

Video at link is worth watching, ECSO speaks about the investigation in Nevada.

FWIW, it doesn't seem strange to me at all that the family wants to search in Nevada. Unless/until there are additional leads, to indicate different search areas should be focused on in Utah. Family feels it's been covered. Now they want to eliminate areas on the Nevada side of the desert. That makes perfect sense to me. CC's strength and focus right now is sustained by "doing". She's been an incredible advocate for Dylan, I hope she gets answers soon.

Snipped-
Rounds' parents are holding up by focusing on the search.

"That's got to be our focus because if you break down in the middle of this, your focus becomes your emotions," Cooley said. "And when your emotions take over, you're not logical. And if you're not logical, precise and going off the facts, we are of no good to helping to find Dylan."
