Great news that someone has been arrested and charged with Kimberly's murder ~ and also that, for once it seems, it wasn't her husband!!:clap:

From what I just quickly read, it seems the murder occurred Friday morning, he entered through an unlocked door and encountered Kimberly while he was trying to steal something out of the house, hit her with his fist then with a baseball bat ~ all while he was high on cocaine. I certainly hope Utah seeks the ultimate punishment. MOO

I find that is probably a lie. How did she end up in bed if she caught him breaking in. Also thoughts from a profiler...

"Martin Vuskinick shaking hands with murder victim and neighbor Kimberly Hain's husband, may have seemed innocuous. To the trained eye, however, the visit to the Hains' home had a self-serving purpose.

Former FBI profiler Greg Cooper looked at our footage online. Cooper says he saw a young man, driven to return to the scene of his crime for insight on the investigation, possibly to re-live the incident itself.
"From a perspective of wanting to know the status of the investigation, that becomes paramount, from a practical perspective. The other perspective is sort of a morbid curiosity," Cooper explained. "

i was a friend of marty, i have hung out with him and know a bit about him. the whole love affair with the neighbor is a rumor. as far as being on cocain that night of the murder that is true.i have just seen the footage about his myspace page and that just discusts me. my oppionion is he doesnt seem remorsefull, for him to go to the husband of kim, that makes me sick, what kind of person could face him if the murderer was truely sorry. i have heard things from a reliable source and want to inform you guys a little more bc some of these comments shock me. none of you knew him.. and i dont condone one single action he committed.. im soo soo sorry to the family, both his and hers. i am outraged at what he has done and i believe he should be punished to the full extent. however, marty had a serious drug addition problem, had attended rehab and had a few minor problems. as far as i know he never had a horrible childhood or was abused. this will be my only comment reguardless of what is said, i just wanted to point out a few thoughts i was having.

Went to school with Marty...

And I have to say... He desereves everything that comes his way. I don't know him personally, but form what I do know is that he is a creep. He not very long ago threatened my 14 year old sister. The reason's being that my sister and his sister don't like eachother. I'm a 17 year old female, I'm not going to threaten his little sister. Being a senior in high school (oh wait he dropped out) you shouldn't be trying to fight little girls just because you can't stand up to the boy's at school Marty V.

Apparently a real tough [no swearing please] threatens junior high girls and Kill's an innocent mother of two.... Not cool.

On a lighter note, I'm cool with his exe Sheena, it's a good reason to be upset about. She knew a different side of him, but thats why people shouldn't be involved with drugs. It brings out the worst in people. And just cause your on drugs doesn't give you an exuse to the crime you commit.

This young man was obviously very mad and upset with Kim. To beat to death someone with a baseball bat is someone who is over the top angry and possibly someone on some kind of drug. Police haven't released what they believe his motive was. Was he infatuated with her and she had denied his advances? Did she know something that he was involved in that was illegal and was going to tell his mom?
I read in one of the Utah papers where cops had wanted to interview him because he was acting strange at the scene..
I will be very interested to learn what was behind this very brutal and very personal killing.

Police: 18-year-old may have been high when murder occurred
May 27th, 2009 @ 4:24pm

WEST VALLEY CITY -- The 18-year-old accused of beating a West Valley woman to death was high on cocaine at the time of the murder.

West Valley police confirmed that Martin Vuksinick ingested cocaine prior to entering 33-year-old Kimberly Hain's home. They believe Vuksinick was attempting to steal something from the home when he was confronted by Hain, and ultimately killed her.

I'm not at all surprised. If he really was in there to steal something it probably was money to buy more cocaine. The part where it says he was confronted by Kimberly and ultimately killed her absolutely sickens me. He was in her house and may not have been if he hadn't been so "high". Also in that article an ex-girlfriend says "he is not a killer and is really a good kid inside". GMAB. :furious: MOO

maybe he was after more drugs...he may have assumed there'd be "good" stuff in the medicine cabinet...if not pills he himself wanted to take, he could have sold them to get cash for his drug of choice.

Absolutely! Users don't ever think of the consequences, just what they need at the moment. MOO

BBM I totally agree with you. Some ppl wrongly believe that ppl who work in the medical field has access to tons of "good stuff" and therefore they would "bring it home" (not true..may have access to do your job but you don't bring "free meds" home just because you work in medical field...)

I also want to add that I've so happy that it wasn't the hubby! And that they made an arrest quickly!!

Thank GOD, the children didn't wake up or he probably would have done the same to them.

Has anyone heard or read about what time this happened?

I think stealing meds used to be more prevalent in the past. These days, at least in my mom's hospital, they have these weird high tech vending-type machines. The drugs are only accessible by some security measure (maybe a doctors signature or a scanned prescription - I'm not sure what it is). It's still possible to steal them, but it's a lot harder.

Here is another strange statement the accused killer said to the press before he was arrested:

The teen said the entire area is close-knit, but that his family was the closest to the Hains.

Vuksinick described Kim Hain as smart, someone who loved hiking and camping and was "pretty strong and pretty athletic." He even joked that she was strong enough to "take him."

"She never had an enemy in the world," he told the News on Monday. "Why her? It's so shocking."

Joking....about how strong the victim was????? She could take "him"??? weird. I still don't think he went there to rob and I don't think he went back for the bat. He went there to kill and had the bat with him the entire time.

Oh..here we go...
"He claimed he last saw Hain on Thursday night as she left the house for a trip to the liquor store. "I joked with her and said, 'Bring me some back,' and she said, 'Yeah, right.' It's just one of the weirdest things.

"I didn't hear anything that night, nothing. I just woke up in the morning and saw all of this," he said.

However, police say Vuksinick entered Hain's home Thursday night through an unlocked door to steal something but ran into Hain and attacked her. In jail documents, police state Vuksinick hit her in the head with his fist, then struck her in the head multiple times with a bat. "

Ok how do you "run into someone " in their bed??? Maybe he thought after a few drinks she might like him in her bed? And if not bring along a bat....

Good grief!!! Earlier reports over the weekend said she would've been getting the children bathed and ready for bed between 8pm-10pm. Now he has her at a liquor store? If she did go, it would've been before her husband left for work, much earlier in the evening. I don't believe his version at all. If Kimberly had confronted him and was trying to get away from him she wouldn't have run and gotten in bed. MOO

Did you guys notice this in the article colette linked above?

"Police were still at the scene Saturday as Vuksinick's parents recounted their friendship with the Hains.

"Meanwhile, their son went into the front yard to idly swing a baseball bat. He stopped when a police officer came to the door asking if he could interview Vuksinick again."

My bold. Ew. Did he want to get caught, or was he just so cocky that he enjoyed practically re-enacting the murder in the front yard in front of LE and the press?

Ugh, everything he's said is so cryptic. I'm glad they caught him so quickly. I hope he's in prison for a good, long while.

It's indeed a small world. My dh and I were watching the 10 p.m. news and they were talking about the arrest. When he heard his last name dh's ears perked up! He knows his father, grew up with his older brothers who are twins as childhood friends. He hasn't seen him in a long time since he'd moved away and has never met any of his children. dh is not the sleuther like me so he really hadn't paid any attention to this case.

I don't usually post on here, I think this is my second post.(Hope I did this right) I am however obsessed with lurking on here.

I felt the need to comment on this. The fact that he was swinging the bat around his yard while police were still at the scene of the crime that HE committed makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I thought him shaking the husbands hand was bad enough, but this just makes me so mad! I hope to God the husband or children didn't see him swinging the bat as I know for me, that would be a tough image to get out of my head! I hope they seek the death penalty for him!

Sorry about my rant! I feel much better now
