I just looked it up on Google maps; Hatch Park is northeast of Rose Park, and seems to be about 3 miles away, as the crow flies...

He didn't have her take the Lyft to his house because she never would've gotten out of the car.

It was all a ruse.

Police conducting search warrant related to missing MacKenzie Lueck at SLC home
There are multiple police units surrounding a home at 547 N. 1000 W. in Salt Lake City Wednesday night.

Police tweeted that the search warrant was related to the search for MacKenzie Lueck.

I have no doubt that this is going to now be a criminal investigation.

A press conference at that hour, in that location, held by a man of that status, tells me what I need to know.
