I wonder if LE "found" the person she was texting or whether the person went to LE to advise them that they were the person she was texting. Hmmmmm???

Salt Lake City police confirmed Wednesday that missing University of Utah student MacKenzie Lueck was texting someone from the airport before she disappeared, but said after talking to that individual he or she is not considered a suspect or a person of interest “at this time.”

Salt Lake City police have contacted the person who received texts from missing student MacKenzie Lueck before she left the airport

How many times has LE says someone is not a suspect but then that person ends up arrested.

Translation: Stay tuned, folks.

Yup, key words being “at this time”... At the very least, it looks pretty suspicious to me that the person she was texting with after arriving at the airport didn’t previously contact the police with this info, despite media reports, police press conference, etc... I’m also wondering if that person contacted police after their tweet, or if the police had to further find/contact them... hmmmm

On the other thread, a WS member said Online Only is a mutual webcam thing.

It's possible that she did both online only (sharing videos) and meetings in person, too.

Still trying to keep up! This thread is moving so fast I constantly feel behind.

Things may have changed now but MsBetsy is correct to what the definition used to be - a truly online only exchange. I’ve never heard anyone getting that off of Tinder though, so I think she was also meeting people.

Back in dinosaur times you could find online only daddies on findom and other fetish sites - they may have other places now but if you’re an attractive woman on a fetish site the offers will come rolling in soon enough. It was usually sending personal pics, foot fetish photos, Skyping/FaceTiming, or recording private shows.

I, personally, never heard of anyone taking those relationships offline and don’t think there would really be a reason to do so. Back in the Stone Age it wasn’t really lucrative.

Given that, I don’t think she would randomly meet some stranger in a park at 3am for that aspect of her life?

don't know the tech in the doorbells.

more specifically it is not that a camera can be seen, it is the night vision light, the ir, the human eye doesn't see it but a camera on a cell phone can.
I have a doorbell Cam. It has a night vision option..it lights up the area at night, if someone is around the door. Hope this helps.

I just googled it and found some info. I'm not done reading it but there was a question on Quora (not sure how credible that is) with the answer explaining what online-only is like and apparently it's exchanging videos instead of meeting in person. I think I googled "online only sugar babies."
There was another site called "seeking arrangement.com" with someone's experience with online only which the woman apparently switched to after having a bad experience meeting someone in person. Imo

Thanks for taking one for the team @MsBetsy!

Seeking arrangement.com and sugar babbies.com were both names in msm and seem to be most prevalent.

Unless you're communicating outside of US, I'm not buying a virtual sb/d arrangement -- unless you have no interest in financial gain.

This was my google result -- Belgium owner charged.

'Sugar daddy' website owner charged with debauchery in Belgium

Your right to whatever amendment it was makes me cry!.In uk police would just get phone details immediately no crap!. Sure would be probably be too late a day later but a week in US a joke!. Crying
They don't need a warrant for the records? How can they ensure people's privacy if they are allowed immediate access?

Just to respond to this. “Online only” is a huge trend at the moment - especially on Twitter and Instagram as they use that for promotion. Sites like OnlyFans provide a platform for people to put their sexual content behind a paywall and sell subscriptions or admissions. They then promote their content on social media and encourage subscribers.

Another trend is FinDom - women are sent money and gifts by rich men and the men see it as an act of submission. They are never expected to meet - it’s all electronic transfers and the men are sent content of the women spending the money.

It’s becoming a popular way for young females to subsidise their lifestyles in the UK and USA.

There's also the possibility that the person she was texting was in California (or somewhere other than SLC) and that's why LE is saying they aren't a suspect "at this time." Of course this doesn't explain why that person didn't come forward in the first place (assuming LE found them and not the other way around), but I'm always amazed at how clueless some people can be.

UT - UT - MacKenzie "Kenzie" Lueck, 23, Salt Lake City, 17 June 2019 #6

A locally produced podcast titled “Zion's Lost,” which focuses on missing people and cold case investigations in Utah, stated on their show this week that their own private investigator had verified Lueck has a profile on the website Seeking Arrangements, which promotes itself as "the world's largest network for sugar daddy and sugar baby relationships."

What appears to be a picture of Lueck is posted on the website under one of the profiles.

Lueck's disappearance and word that she may have been on at least one "sugar daddy" website has sparked discussion by others on social media.

Screenshots of messages posted by "Kenzie Lueck" in a private Facebook group were shared by others on Tuesday. In one message, she gives advice on how to use sugar daddy websites and talks about her own experience. The messages appeared to have been originally posted about two months ago.

"Mine says 'I want a SD/SB relationship with a real connection.' If don't know what a SD/SB is, tell them bluntly sugar daddy and sugar baby. But if they don't know, they aren't really worth your time," the post states. "Private message me, if you have more questions! I have experience."

[...]

Salt Lake police on Wednesday remained tight-lipped about the dating apps, and would not confirm whether they believe the profiles were created by Lueck or if detectives had tracked down and interviewed any of the men she allegedly dated.

I hate speculation but I’m going to do some here. Sorry in advance.

If a person needed to meet her at 3am in a park because they have a SO at home, what excuse do they give that SO for leaving the home at 3am?

This makes me wonder if perhaps the person she was meeting was getting off work around that time perhaps from a place close by the park. ;-).
