I have an understanding of why AA alleged rape victim backed off from pressing the charges. I’ve never pressed charges on either of my rapists. I know one of their victims before me who didn’t either. I hold zero ill will towards her. She wanted to tell me, but had been threatened. We were terrified. We know we’d have been skewered alive, not to mention constantly being in fear for our lives. If you’ve ever lived your life in sheer fear for any length of time, you understand. I moved quickly, but I still have some fear: 23yrs later. I’ve had to find a way to forgive myself for not coming forward, as I found out later that there was at least 1 victim after me. I never judge any woman or man who doesn’t come forward. It’s been hard to see AA victim be blamed for not pressing the charges. And, now, AA wife for not going to LE. (NOT here on WS.) I understand it’s easy for people to “if only” the situations, but that’s not fair to the victims. I’ve tried to stay off social media for that reason.
Anyway, all JMO and experiences.

Murder Of University Of Utah Student Mackenzie Lueck Has Dallas Connection
[...]

According to their marriage license, Ajayi married a woman in Dallas named, TJ.

[...]

“He was threatening me, saying he was going to get me locked up, saying he was going to get me kidnapped, he was going to get me killed and all that, but I stopped talking to him because I just feared for my life,” TJ said.

TJ never reported the incident to police and Ajayi has no criminal record in Dallas.

But the CBS 11 I-Team did ask the police department if officers ever had been in contact with Ajayi while he was here.

There has been no response yet.

What also remains unclear is where Ajayi stayed when he was in Dallas and just how long he was here.

When he got married – records show his wife listed her home address as apartments off Zang Boulevard.

But talking to residents there on Monday, none said they knew or even heard of her.

exactly. The more I think about it, the only logical reason a cute college girl meets a guy at a park at 3am after flying home from her grandmother's funeral is for a drug fix....And someone who had been flying and going through security at airports would have had limited access to drugs for the previous 24-48 hours. Withdrawals would cause someone to make a very poor decision to meet someone at 3am in a park.
It doesn’t make sense to me that she would take a Lyft to buy drugs. Is it customary for the dealer to give you a ride home?

I'm so sorry for your trauma and experience. There are so many reasons why women don't report or press charges. The woman who was raped did the best she could given her circumstances, and IMO she did make an incident report stating just in case this happened to anyone else. I think that was the best she could do. It's hard to prove rape, us women know this. I don't fault her at all for not wanting to go forward and press charges, and there was no guarantee AA would have been convicted. She could have gone through all that trauma and still not get justice, and AA could have still been free and murdered Kenzie.

Yes, completely standard.

You do have to catch a ride to the meeting spot, but once the transaction is made, he will transport you and your luggage right to your door (I believe there is usually a magic carpet involved).

This might seem strange to those who are used to the image of drug dealers as unscrupulous back alley criminals.

On the whole though, modern drug dealers are completely trustworthy in every way.

So trustworthy in fact, that you would think nothing of meeting them at 3am in a dark parking lot.

On that note. Wanna buy a bridge?

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I also agree - I can understand why rape victims do not come forward or press charges.

She had been on planes and going through airport security for the funeral, so you cannot have drugs on you in the airport either. She had to have been exhausted at 3am, but she had some incentive to meet him at that park, instead of having her Lyft driver take her home.

That's a very good point.

ML also had midterms coming up, along with her work schedule.

I'm definitely not dismissing the possibility that ML went to meet AA at 3 am in a parking lot to make a buy.

Occam would not at all be pleased if I ignored that possibility.

JMO.

Dude went to college and was somewhat intelligent. Anger problems and somebody who didnt have a lot of patience either. I dont think it was premeditated. If you're burning somebodys body during the day you know something went down unexpected.

I agree—it makes no sense at all.

People have said that if she asked the Lyft drive to wait a minute and take her home, he’d know that it was a drug deal, and turn her in.

1: Turning in riders who may have committed petty crimes is not part of the job description of Lyft drivers.

2: “Got to meet a classmate for a minute. He left me his class notes, and I have to get them back to him before the test!” (As something to soothe the Lyft driver’s conscience.

3: Driving your customer home is not part of a drug dealer’s job description. By the time you assume that the drug dealer will take her, and her luggage, and drive her home, you’ve assumed a relationship that’s much more than drug dealer/customer. So why bother inventing the drug dealer part, specially when there’s not a speck of evidence, so far, that ML was into drugs at all.

Yes, exactly! In an Uber about a month ago, my Uber driver was telling me all about this. It is very common for people to take ride shares to drug deals. It's so common in fact that he stopped doing the night shift, b/c he suspected that was much of his business!

I’ve heard of the same. They usually leave the same way they arrived though.

In the Rideshare.

Have they officially released how ML knew AA?

To me, it seems she was familiar/ comfortable with him and not trying to "impress". The airport security footage shows a girl who's not dressed up, hair a bit messy/ unkept, and seemingly no make up.

She looks exactly how I would look if I had just buried my grandmother, took a late flight home, arriving at 1 AM ... getting picked up by someone I'm familiar with... boyfriend, good friend, etc.

I'm just not getting a "date vibe", "acquaintance vibe" or "escort vibe" here. But maybe I'm wrong.

Still trying to wrap my head around what she was even doing with someone like this who's almost twice her age.... how did they meet? how do they know each other? So odd.

I’ve thought for awhile that I don’t think she took the Lyft to buy drugs. I really think she knew and trusted this man in some capacity.

I also feel like he probably didn’t have a plan. So far he hasn’t really demonstrated a ton of forethought with anything else he’s done (turning off her phone, desecrating a body in the middle of a suburban neighborhood, giving away evidence for free in a very traceable manner online. He’s just not the brightest bulb in the box.

I’m also wondering if the women coming and going (as described by the ex-Roomate) may have been pros. Everything about him screams “scammer”. I find it hard to believe that he would be some sort of Romeo unless they were bought and paid for. There is always going to be a subset of people that realize having a per meet arrangement with a “sugar baby” could be the more economical alternative to hiring a low volume pro. If he had a low opinion of the women he was with it might explain how he could do what he did to someone who trusted him enough to meet up with him at 3am.

I also can’t shake the suggestion that she may have been pregnant. The references to “storks”, baby items saved to Pinterest, etc. it also might explain how this guy came up in conversation to someone else. I hate to say this, but we’ve seen plenty of cases where someone killed their pregnant partner because they weren’t stoked at the thought of impending fatherhood.

Close friend of mine was taped. She would not file charges .did not want family to know. She knew the guy, dated broke it off after a couple of monthß then he waited for her one night. He knew she would be alone. She called me the next morning after he left. Hard to see a friend all bruised up. I feel bad for the victims bit in my heart I would report it for fear of others in the future. We need to keep these monsters from doing what they please and getting off with no punishment. The punishment should be so severe one would not even think of committing an act of violence.

An interesting study on sadistic criminals.

“...The overwhelming majority of offenders we studied used a pretext or ruse to first make contact with the victims. The sexual sadist would offer or request assistance, pretend to be a police officer, respond to a classified advertisement, meet a realtor at an isolated property, or otherwise gain the confidence of the victim. Almost invariably, the victims were taken to a location selected in advance that offered solitude and safety for the sadist and little opportunity of escape or rescue for the victim. Such locations included the offender’s residence, isolated forests, and even elaborately...”
