Josh wouldn't let Susan's dad see the boys...he wouldn't talk to her dad or even allow him to visit? If that is so it really cinches it for me. Josh doesn't want to face Susan's dad. He doesn't want to look him in the eyes. Guilty Guilty Guilty....

Didn't the dad take a PI with him when he went to Utah? Did the PI stay or return to WA with Susan's dad?

If I was Susan's dad there would be no doubt in my mind that Josh is GUILTY.

IIRC dad had a retired LE come with him, close friend

I was just posting why I thought he answered that particular call. He seems to have answered many calls and hopefully his cell phone pings will help them find Susan and also put holes in his story of where he was

eta: I still think that he never thought someone would call LE when they didn't show up for work. He didn't think that far ahead in his plan so the rest of his shaky actions were all about covering his a$$ MOO

Actually, nurse, it was the daycare worker of Susan's two sons that called when no one dropped them off. She couldn't get in touch with Josh or Susan so she contacted someone from Susan's family. I'll go find the article.

IMO, some counselor person told her to keep track of the emotions felt and fights they had.
Maybe strange actions of JP.
I remember being told to keep a calendar ..........+ on good days - on the bad.
When the - were more than + it was time to go with my 'plan'
because that is the 'danger zone'.
Wonder if this is what Susan was doing???

Where, oh where, is Josh's family? Where are his parents? I so hope they are encouraging him to fess up and say where Susan is.
There was one interview with Josh's sister on TV, she was in tears, and when asked if she thought her brother did something to Susan she said, "I hope not!" not "NO." She seemed so very upset. Apparently, the family was close to Susan and the children. That is the only family member other than Mr. Cox, Susan's father, and Kirk Graves, Josh's BIL that I've seen interviewed.

Been watching this case; I think we all know the drill by now ... LE will not call Josh a POI or suspect until they are ready to arrest him. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck. I mean really, are we supposed to believe any of this?

Prayers for those two darling boys, Susan's family and friends. May the truth be told and justice be swift!!

Yes - "I hope not!" isn't much of an endorsement for innocence, is it?

LE has said he is a POI now

J has also stated she completed a call to him. It needs to be added to the timeline. She will not discuss on msm what it entailed

eta: but she DID say that she called him that day!

LE has said he is a POI now

"While the police have not named Joshua as a suspect they did point to a few facts that have made him a person of interest and that includes the fact that he did not show up for an interview, as well as the fact that he hasn't been actively out helping with the search for his wife and has shown little interest in the investigation. Black continued his statement, "Josh's unusual lack of cooperation for a husband looking for his wife with the police department, you know, it certainly causes us to ask questions as to why would he do things to exclude the resources that we can bring to the table to find Susan."

A notebook that Susan Powell kept in her desk at work, possibly containing information about her relationship with her husband, was among the items seized by investigators last week, several sources have told the Deseret News.

The notebook, according to one source, detailed threats allegedly made against the missing West Valley City woman about a year ago.

Whoa! Ok, I know I'm way behind but,...............what a BOMBSHELL!

I bet Josh is truly upset!

Ok, I'm going to go back to trying to catch up. LOL, you all are moving so fast, I may not make it 'til morning.

WoW!!!
fran

PS..........GOOD for Susan! She did take precausions!

I'm wondering if Josh came up with the whole "Taking the kids sledding" as a way to get the friend to leave. He may have thought she would leave when Susan went to lay down, only she stayed. If he was wanting to do something that evening then it wouldn't work so well to be having company.

VB

For those who think this was definitely pre-mediated, why do you think he didn't come up with a better alibi? And that isn't meant to be a shot at the pre-meditated idea, I really want to know what the theories are along that line so I can tumble this whole thing around again.

(snip) And doesn't like the idea of GP asking his grandsons questions either I'll bet. At this point, I suspect the four year-old could be a real liability to JP. Wonder what if anything LE learned from speaking w him?

Amen. :prayer: ITA it's getting to be such an "everyday occurrence," makes ya groan and say, couldn't these guys come up w anything more original, I mean just once...

It is just flat out DISTURBING, the frequency w which wives are just up and "disappearing..." (Hate when that happens )

With two young children, working 6 days a week, walking to and from church, laundry, cleaning the house, grocery shopping and all, I can see her taking a nap because she is tired. Although it's possible he could have given her a sleeping pill, even an over the counter sleeping pill to make her tired. Laying down while a friend still there, odd, but understandable as I have done that myself.

Money is apparently tight in their household, so pancake and eggs is filling and not that expensive to serve a family of four. I have breakfast a lot of times for dinner.

I can see this Patty. For some reason I really tend to slump late afternoon on Sundays and I don't have any kids!

JoVonna stated Susan said she was a little tired, not falling over sleepy but it's extremely likely that Susan wouldn't have made a big deal about how tired she may have been feeling. She didn't seem that type.

Regarding her laying down with a guest over, she seemed to know this woman better than I had initially thought. The woman seems to be old enough to be a sort of motherly type figure, so Susan may have felt pretty comfortable with her. Untangling yarn isn't exactly stimulating, so I can see how one could really get to feeling drowsy during the process.

Having experienced nap attacks myself, I don't see this scenario as too awfully strange, especially if the too women were past the cordial, getting to know you phase of a friendship.

I keep wondering if the activities of that afternoon weren't fairly normal for the family, but just seem a bit odd cause of the events later on. I mentally ran through the last 3 Sundays in my house and on each one you could find something seemingly weird that really meant nothing in particular.

On the other hand, I do keep thinking that Susan would have had to be more than a little tired to feel the need to lie down although I still lean towards the theory that she wasn't drugged.

But if you give me an hour I can almost promise another change in my theory.

Wonder if they owned some sort of carpet steam clean machine. Hopefully not, holding out hope that a stain of any significance (body fluids, dna etc) could not be manually spot treated very effectively.

Oh I'm sure some evidence would be left. You could probably steam clean till the cows come home and not be able to get rid of every little microscopic clue. But then again, I'm not a carpet cleaning expert so I can't say for certain.

Random Side Thought: Susan's family is holding a news conference tomorrow (Thursday) correct? And didn't they state earlier they would not be doing any more interviews unless there was a big update or something? Does anything think there must have been some significant findings today we don't know much about yet? I keep thinking about the notebook and have high hopes.

New (I think) article! http://www.abc4.com/content/news/to...nside-perspective/1B1tw3Lc2kqZi6DaWSpBVg.cspx

I haven't read it yet but it claims a family friend shares inside perspective. Please no one lynch me if this has already been posted. Off to read it!

ETA: The friend is the neighbor, Tim. No really new info that hasn't already been brought up in this thread. It just confirms a few things most of us have already heard.

I don't believe a store-bought machine could completely destroy evidence.

IMO things are starting to change!

I think the friends and family are beginning to realize that Josh may have
done something to Susan.

He is now a person of interest and they even went as far to say that “IF this
was a criminal matter he would be a suspect.. but they don’t have any
evidence as of yet to make it a criminal matter.”

Mark Hacking confessed 5 days after Lori went missing.
Susan has been missing for 10 days.
This has to be eating him alive and now that he can see that his sister
and brother in law as well as friends are starting to wonder… well it
can’t be good for his ego!

I don’t expect anything to come out until they arrest him.
I remember with Lori Hacking they held everything really close to the vest.
Tricia and I were at the vigil on the 24th of July (I think it was the 24th)
they had canceled the search early that night and the vigil was not what we thought
it would be… we all wondered if something was up. It wasn’t until that night
that they announced on the news that Mark had confessed.

The fact that they have not asked if anyone saw Josh or the kids during the
time he was “camping”, the fact that they have not asked people to search,
the fact that the family and friends seem to be changing their tune….
make me think that the police have all that they need and we will soon see
Josh doing the perp walk!
