Nope, it was Cluciano, if you did I missed it.
I ALMOST did it, then I saw that she did and I felt much better. :seeya:

Yes, I saw hers above mine and thought I was in the wrong thread. :scared:

Which indicates (to me anyway) that she is either voluntarily missing, or she knows the person responsible for her being missing. No way this is random with her car showing up that close to a regular location for her.

Bingo. We're on the same page.

Re her twitter....maybe someone has pulled a few pictures from it......because at least 5 of the pictures I saw were most definitely *advertiser censored*!!! One picture in particular was extremely pornographic.......I have a lot of nieces and nephews and their friends and friends of friends etc around the same age and I can tell you now, some of them have some full on stuff on their social media (mostly those memes and embarrassing party photo sites etc) but none have anything that explicit. My first thought when I first saw her twitter with those pictures on it and then 11 ooo followers was "silly girl, you are asking for big trouble"............I am also thinking the reason she has 11000 followers, is because 10000 of them are men who are super excited about a pretty 17 year old girl with sexually explicit photos on her page.....and posting teasing photos of herself (yes clothes I know)...........one way to get attention I suppose...but not the attention I think is appropriate for a 17 year old.. Call me old fashion, but I personally think it is very wrong.

Just happened to see these while on the Missing and Exploited Site.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but there is a #findAlexisMurphy page on twitter.....there is not much info on it, lots of tweets, however right right down it does mention that she was going to meet a couple of guys and they have said that she did not turn up...

Sorry if this is not the right thing to do.....not sure how to go about social media posts...

OT but there is some weird, conflicting info about age of consent in Virginia. I am finding that it is 15 on some sites, 17 on others and that for an adult to have sex with a 15-year old is a misdemeanor. That does not sound right...anyone know for sure?

I don't live in Virginia so I could be wrong, but it could be that 17 is when you can have sex with other adults regardless of their age. And that 15 is when you CAN have sex, but only with people within a certain age range (usually 3 - 4 years). They're similar to Romeo and Juliet laws so you don't have 17-year-olds going to jail for having sex with their 15-year-old girlfriend.

But those don't appear to be pictures of her.

I agree. I was just responding to Tonto who said there was no nudity on the page. I just wanted folks to be aware of the graphic content there in case they would like to avoid it.

This is pure speculation.
Do you think it's possible Alexis was being stalked? Could she have been followed to the parking lot of her original meeting place (not sure where that was but maybe the guys who were supposed to meet her have it with their statement) either from her home or from the gas station, then lured or coerced into driving to another location? Maybe with a false story about an emergency with another friend or coworker?

More speculation.
Since the car ended up close to her workplace, I'm wondering how closely LE will look at repeat customers at the store as well as customers who may, in retrospect, seem much too interested in Alexis. Just thinking that if there was something familiar about whoever left with Alexis, she might have felt there was some legitimacy to whatever was happening, at least at the very beginning.

Is is more likely that, being excited about an evening out, she was just not paying too much attention to her surroundings, and was caught off guard by a stranger? Just random thoughts about this frightening situation.

Stalking is a very likely possibility in this case. :twocents:

Very good 'up to the minute' twitter feed from an anchor covering the story for CBS19 in Charlottesville.

https://twitter.com/RachelCBS19

A couple of insights I've picked up from her tweets:

1. No outdoor cameras at the theatre. No employees interviewed recall seeing her inside.

2. When FBI opened the car door, the alarm went off - meaning that whomever closed the door last locked it up. Would have had to have used the key FOB to do this.

3. She is told that FBI is leading the investigation. (Which is odd that they have assumed jurisdiction, unless something they know gives them this authority over local/state LE)

I'm thinking she parked the car there and met someone. Something bad may have happened later on, but I'm thinking she knew this person somehow and went willingly.

Hope this is the case, as the chances for a good outcome are greater. Then again, with FBI taking the lead, it doesn't look good.

Interesting that she was going to meet two guys... But she never showed up...

wonder where she was supposed to meet them?...

Lynchburg?.... Or ???

I just got to a laptop where I could see the pics. OH MY WORD! While some of you may debate if they are *advertiser censored* or not.... I THINK we would all agree that they are not "typical" or appropriate for a 17 yr old girl!!!!

After seeing her in team sports pics, it struck me odd that none of her friends have joined us (at least, that I know of).

Thoughts???

On her page, 10 days ago someone says they are coming to see her this weekend for the first time and she responds, and who is this?

The next entry is, you are seriously one of the most prettiest girls I have ever seen on twitter and she responds thank you.

Around 10:30 p.m., K-9 dogs picked up a scent at the car leading authorities through the parking lot and toward nearby Arden Place Luxury Apartments. K-9 units searched the clubhouse of the apartment complex.

http://www.wusa9.com/news/article/269665/158/UPDATE-Missing-Va-Teens-Car-Found

So the scent went to the clubhouse area and not an apt bldg?

Alexis Tiara Murphy, 17, was last seen Saturday evening. Her family believes she was headed to Lynchburg to get hair extensions for her senior portrait, her aunt Angela Taylor said Tuesday afternoon.

http://www.newsadvance.com/news/loc...11e2-9b11-0019bb30f31a.html#facebook-comments

This is a new version of events and the Aunt stated this yesterday so it is not like she hasn't heard what the family said. Also, didn't she already have her sr photos done?

From the first link:
The Newsplex's Rachel Ryan was the first reporter on the scene and spoke with the young man who alerted police to the vehicle. He says he is friends with the Murphy family and found the car around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. He says he does not know how long it has been parked at the theater.

A lot has been said about the Twitter account. What it shows me is that she makes some poor decisions and is naive (like most girls her age). Both of those qualities could lead her to disappear voluntarily, but those same qualities make her very vulnerable to bad guys, too. So I've been on the fence about what might have happened to her.

It seems that many missing persons cases that start with someone leaving for a trip of more than 20 miles end up being voluntary. It seems like most real abduction cases involve someone traveling a short distance. I think that might be because people simply take more short trips. In terms of odds, it would be far less likely for someone to be abducted while going on a long drive than for someone to be abducted while going to the store or to visit a friend a few miles away.

Now, this is just a theory, really. But think about these abduction cases. Whitney Weichel was going to work. I assume it was a short drive. Amber Whited was going to lunch.

Now think about these cases where some vanished voluntarily after going on a trip of some kind. Unfortunately, I can't give you names because the cases were mostly over quickly and because most of the threads have been erased. But there was a girl in Mississippi or Alabama who was going to visit some friends in a college town, and she really went somewhere else. There was a guy in New England who was headed home from college for the summer and really went somewhere else. There was a young woman in rural North Carolina who left to drive 30-40 miles to work but really went somewhere else. There was a woman visiting in Missouri who headed home to Wisconsin and didn't make it home. She went somewhere else on the way. There was a woman in Arkansas who was thought to be headed home from work, and she really stopped near home and apparently committed suicide. Can anyone think of more cases where someone used a trip as an excuse?

Of course, the involvement of the FBI is somewhat concerning. So my theory might not be worth much in the grand scheme.

Agreed -I was actually thinking that she parked her car at the movies and met up with someone at the apartments and got into his vehicle (maybe?) and took off.

BBM: that is INSANELY creepy. Wow.

It is certainly possible that her disappearance has nothing to do with her Online activity, no matter how inappropriate and dangerous it is for a 17 year old. Goodness knows there are way too many teens today with the same kind of online behavior. She does sound like a fairly "good kid" despite that since she was active in school and employed. I still would like to know more about her family life and influences though.

Morgan Harrington's case haunts the Charlottesville area and certainly the local law enforcement since it was never solved. There is a lot of "old money" there, and UVA people always like to say it is the "Harvard of the South" (I'm a Va Tech fan myself). I think they are taking it so seriously with the FBI ect b/c they are worried they have a serial killer on their hands and have a lot of pressure from local influences. They want to feel safe and not be known for this. What wealthy family wants to send their daughter to a college with a serial killer on the loose? Morgan Harrington went to Tech but her parents were well off and I know they want justice as well.

Why would her scent be at the clubhouse? I can think of a few reasons. She knew someone who worked there. She wanted to check on the rent because she was considering moving out either during her senior year or for her first year of college. She or her clothing were left there. Is there a trash bin?
