O/T

But I have the worst hangover EVERRRR. My eyes are so swollen I can barely see, and today is Hubby's birthday, so I have to try to make merry.

Today sucks. That is all.

Hair of the dog MK... :beagle:

Bottom's up :drink:

No one can say whether the remains found Thursday morning beside an abandoned house near the Virginia-North Carolina border are those of Anjelica “AJ” Hadsell.
The medical examiner must identify them, and that takes time, said Cpl. Melinda Wray, spokeswoman for the Norfolk Police Department.
Family and friends gathered at Hadsell’s home in Norfolk to await news from police.
A patrol car was parked outside, the officer there to keep the family informed.

“We’re just praying that all of this is resolved swiftly, and we’re just trying to work together as a family,” said Timothy Moran, a family friend and minister who spoke on their behalf.
Hadsell, an 18-year-old Longwood University freshman, went missing March 2 while at her parents’ home in Norfolk’s Tarrallton neighborhood.
Police scoured a property south of Franklin before removing the body Thursday.
It was found in waist-high grass beside a dilapidated house more than 50 miles from Hadsell’s home.

Working and sleuthing at the same time, was it mentioned yesterday Windsor was being search too?

I know, Rosie. But I don't think Pastor T gives a rats end about Zach. Wes is his friend...and he and Wes have ALOT in common.
I am clearly not thinking straight today because I thought you were talking about Zach being out there not Pastor T.

“Everybody’s mind is going a hundred miles an hour,” Moran said. “Everyone wants Anjelica home. That’s the main goal. It’s not about anybody else but AJ at the moment.”
Police initially said they did not suspect foul play when Hadsell disappeared but have conducted multiple searches for her in the five weeks since.
Hadsell’s stepfather, Wesley Hadsell, was arrested last month on burglary and obstruction of justice charges.
Prosecutors claimed he was impeding the police investigation, but his defense attorney argued he was trying to help.
When asked about Hadsell’s stepfather, Moran said the family is focused on bringing her home.
“Obviously, he is in our thoughts and prayers,” Moran said. “We just want to resolve this.”

Obviously he was speaking of WH.

Something just clicked in my head.

What if WH got AJ to meet up with him by telling her he had money to give her? That would make the $200 come into his mind when he was trying to make up his lies. JMO

The investigation led Norfolk police this week to the small brick house in the 34000 block of Smiths Ferry Road.
Neighbors said police began searching the property Wednesday, left and returned Thursday morning.
Officer Sam Shenouda, a department spokesman, said police began searching the area about 8 a.m. Thursday.
The remains were found about 10 a.m.
Police marked off the area in the morning with police tape. By the afternoon, investigators seemed to be focusing most of their attention on a heavily wooded area behind the small house.

“We’ll be out here for a couple days,” Shenouda said. “The property is overgrown, mostly wooded. They’re literally going to be combing through every inch of this property searching for evidence.”
A line of cars rolled slowly past as police searched the property Thursday afternoon. A woman stopped and leaned out the window of her minivan to ask reporters gathered across the street: “Is it really her?”

FBI agents are involved in the investigation, as is the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.
Longwood University, where Hadsell attends college, put out a statement indicating it was closely following news reports.
“As we await further news, our thoughts and prayers remain with AJ’s family at this difficult time,” the statement said.
More than 20 people had gathered at Hadsell’s home in Norfolk Thursday evening.
Some passed a football; a few smoked outside. Many were wearing shirts emblazoned with a photo of Hadsell and the word MISSING printed on the back.

About 60 personnel from the Norfolk Police Dept. Va. State Police, the FBI, the Southampton Co. Sheriff's Office and K-9 from Hampton Police and the Virginia Dept. of Emergency Management were conducting line searches around the brick home on Smiths Ferry Road, looking for more evidence, Officer Sam Shenouda with Norfolk Police told 13News Now.com.

They started the second day of investigation at the home around 6 a.m.

I haven't paid close attention to this case but yesterday, the day they found remains, I came here. A member had posted a link to a flicker album of AJ. These two pictures resonate, the most with me... Look at AJ's painful expression with the man and compare it to the expression when she is with the young male. Also look at the man's expression in the right hand corner....

Comparing the two just sent off all kinds of bad vibes for me...

To me, that second photo is worth a thousand words. Creepy is the only word . . .

ETA: If ever a girl did not want a hug!

You know, Zach was out there as they recovered the remains. He was obviously known by the police. I thin that when they refer to stepfather they are referring to him, not WH.

I don't think so; the person being quoted is the family "spokesperson" <gag> and only has eyes for WH.

On the latest video: WOW, that is a LOT of LE!!!!

:thumb:

Look how far past the house the crime scene tape goes. Right up into the woods, looks like. Makes me think they HAVE to be looking for the gun or cell phone.
