Okay, I ran the *name* through the South Carolina Census from 1970 to present. I ran the name through a historical database using the dates from 1965 to 1996 and surrounding states, there were few Jason's with the particular last name (or variations of). Most had updated residencies post-1995, so no hits there. There are hundreds of Jason ******s all over the U.S. and Canada, with few matching the possible birth years of our Jason. Some of them don't have updated info post-1995, so it would be difficult to discern if any of them are our GD. (This could be due to their own passing, moving out of country, changing their name, staying with friends, etc...It uses voter/DL registration, prop tax, home purchase, etc to gather info for updating).
Now for the Coram/Couram. There are no hits anywhere for the spelling Couram, at least not stateside. For Coram, there are several Jasons, however they all have updated residencies post-1995.
It's possible that there is a variation or combination of the names that would be correct or that he could be one of the undated Jasons, however there isn't enough information listed to determine one is for sure. Without a definitive surname or paternal/maternal relation and sans positive birthplace, it could be a needle-in-a-haystack situation. Since he seemed to be transient, his place of origin could be anywhere.
None of the Jasons from either of the surnames was born in South Carolina, at least none with full information. I searched several engines, but each is not all inclusive.
I also ran the new photos through facial recognition software and didn't get a legitimate hit or match, although all dated him between 15-17.
I wish I could be of more help. Birth records can be a mountainous objective when you are lacking vital information.
