Heather has had some legal problems too, and perhaps is still on probation. See the court link above for further info.

The way I calculated it she would get off probation this summer. So she most likely IS still on probation.

The sheriff's office used dogs to search Hodges' property on Shady Lane just outside of Rocky Mount.
They also dragged the river using a local swift water rescue team.
The Blackwater River borders Hodges' residence. (Scroll south---just a matter of yards)

Update after press conference. Not much new info

"The case is being investigated as a missing person at this point, Overton said, because no evidence has been found of a crime.
"We are concerned about the unusual circumstances surrounding her disappearance," Overton said, "with her leaving so abruptly and not contacting her family."

"Overton said investigators are still in contact with Jordan and that he has been cooperative. Jordan is the only witness who saw Heather Hodges that evening, the sheriff added."

She is a teeny tiny girl. 5'1 and 100 pounds.

The sister dropped Heather off at 6:30 am and the two were going to meet again at 9 am so Heather could go to doctor's appointment with Crystal (who is pregnant). When Crystal called to pick her up, Scooter claimed Heather was sleeping. 13 hours later Scooter called to report her missing after returning from Dairy Queen.

Keep in mind, the week prior to this, Heather was staying with her mother and Crystal because of domestic issues. Heather decided to return to her home the the same day she vanished.

The question is: Where did Scooter go during that 16 hour period between 6:30 am and 10:30 PM when he called?

Scooter told Crystal Heather came home, was all lovey dovey and she fell asleep in Scooter's arms.... only to vanish later that evening.

As for the questions regarding the age of the the two and length of the relationship: Mrs. Hodges says she tried to press charges for the relationship but that the family couldn't get Heather to cooperate in such a prosecution.

I did notice that he had a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor a few years back.

Yesterday, police also verified that the only person to see Heather after 6:30 am on Monday, April 9, was Scooter... who eventually reported her missing. Investigators have found NO ONE else to corroborate his story.

Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding Heather Hodges of Rocky Mount who has been missing for two weeks.

They live just a few miles north of Rocky Mount right off 220. The DQ was in Wirtz just a few minutes down the road.

The DQ is a distraction. The question is: Where was Scooter between 6:30 am and 10:30 pm. No one heard from Heather, or could get in touch with her during this time. They just have the word of Scooter that she was home.
