'#MeToo without any #MeToo'

Ben Chew, another of Johnny Depp's lawyers, is now addressing the jury.

"You have now come to know the real Amber Heard. Scary. We also told you at the start of this trial that you are going to come to know the real Johnny Depp. Not the many characters you've seen him play... but the man himself."

Jurors have heard how the actor came from "humble beginnings", growing up with an abusive mother in a "deeply troubled household", Mr Chew says. From those difficult beginnings, Depp "grew into one of the greatest actors and movie stars of his generation".

Mr Chew tells the court how fame affected Depp, presenting "challenges" when he was "thrust into the limelight" and "pursued by paparazzi". Mr Chew says Depp did his best to "live a private, quiet life".

The court is reminded that Depp was with his partner before Heard, Vanessa Paradis, for 14 years and that they have two children.

"Before Amber Heard, no woman ever claimed that Mr Depp raised a hand to her, in his 58 years. And no other woman, since Ms Heard made that false claim... has come forward."

He says this is "#MeToo without any #MeToo".

'He owns his flaws, he admits to them... but he is not a violent abuser'

Ben Chew, Johnny Depp's lawyer, now addresses Kate Moss's testimony.

He describes the British model as a "very private person".

Moss testified earlier this week to say that when she dated Depp in the 1990s, he never pushed her down any stairs or was violent.

This was after Heard told the court she had heard a rumour that Depp had done this.

Mr Chew goes on to say that Depp is "no saint" and has never claimed to be.

"He has made mistakes in his life... yes, he has struggled with drugs and alcohol, but you never heard him deny that.

"He owns his flaws, he admits to them... but he is not a violent abuser, as Ms Heard claims.

"He did not and does not deserve to have his life, his legacy, destroyed by a vicious lie.

"There is a world of difference between having substance abuse problems and being a physical abuser."

Three pages on the verdict form relating to Mr Depp’s charges…

Don't think the jury will return quickly…just filling out these verdict forms will take some time
Maybe one of the jurors is a speed writer?

Actually I’m thinking the jurors might ask the judge if they can go home and start deliberations on Tuesday. It’s a Friday before a holiday and I could understand everyone wanting to get out of the courtroom for the day.

Then again, the jurors may be chomping at the bits to tell the world Amber Heard is an abuser and a liar. I could understand that as well.
