Couldn't the " we are missing a member of our group" statement have been in reference to the hotel room they were going to get? Maybe the plans were to party at the hotel, so when the friends called after the concert, they were told "we are missing a member of our group" so they were unable to rent the room and therefore could not go ahead with the party plans.

Thanks for this thought. What stores do you think she was heading toward and which field are you referring to as the JV field? I was curious about this and would be grateful if you could elaborate some on what you were saying.

The map at http://www.virginia.edu/webmap/FUHallAndAthletic.html doesn't label a JV field.

From Lannigan Field it would be natural to cross Copeley Bridge if heading to a bank or the 7-11, or getting to a more populated place/intersection to catch a cab or start walking to UVa central grounds or C'ville town (left at the intersection).

Going southwest through the woods from Lannigan (crossing the railroad tracks) would put one behind a Chinese restaurant, a gourmet-ish local grocery store, or the shopping center adjoining it. The next shopping center west (i.e., further out of town) does have a sushi place that has music sometimes, so maybe she got a recommendation in her brief interaction at Lannigan of the closest restaurant to hang out. But other than the woods and railroad tracks, there's no field I can see there that could constitute the JV field you reference, and personally I don't see the appeal in those stores for MH (maybe the grocery store or restaurant, if she was resigned to chilling out and waiting for her friends until after).

Lots of stores are back north at Barracks Road, and there are definitely fields between Lannigan and there, but that's the opposite direction of what she was spotted doing.

The shopping area is where I'm talking about is here:

on that map

Did I label the field wrong? yes, but I was talking about the area where her pocket book was found, there is a shopping center past that little field area over the railroad tracks, or if you take the bridge it's to the right coming from the direction she was traveling.
And when it's cold and you've been locked out of a concert with 2 hours to kill, sitting down in a warm place would be appealing to anyone imo.
I'm not from the area she disappeared and never been there, so I'm going by what I see on the maps.
MH did know the area though so she had to know there would be a place to get something to eat and get warm over the bridge. Why else walk all that way to that area in the first place?

Considering MH getting locked out of the arena was unplanned, the only thing that makes sense is MH was spotted by someone outside who is either a known sex offender or unknown sex offender (to LE), and he was hanging around the area looking for vulnerable young girls from the University, or maybe he just spotted her while on his way to somewhere, and the predatory excitement level kicked in and he "had" to have her, and so he nabbed her.
I don't think there is a big convoluted drama to this disappearance. I think it is what it is; a random act of violence by a stranger, and that's why there are not a lot of clues.
If MH ran off, or this was someone she knew who she called to come get her, I think we'd have more information. Especially considering her cell was found and phone records can be pulled.

Good point, maybe so. :waitasec:

True, when I think of it the "we are missing someone" is actually a common expression when someone is not present in your expected party of people- so there probably isn't anything to it

What are people's thoughts on post #49. I guess there wouldn't be much truth in it because if there was there would be more people at concert who saw it?

agree that it depends on the discussion and in what context it was used.

One thing I haven't seen posted anywhere...if you take mushrooms or LSD they take a while to kick in, maybe an hour (maybe ecstasy too, I can't remember). It's very possible that if Morgan took some before they went in the arena they really started to kick in when she got to her seat. A noisy, crowded arena can be very overstimulating on those types of drugs. Perhaps Morgan had a panic attack and felt she had to go outside to make herself feel better.

also after getting across the tracks on the bridge she could have also cut through those parking lots to shorten the walk, which would put her near the woods there.

It was pretty cold out as well and if she had to pee bad enough, a dark spot with trees and foliage might be enticing if she thought she couldn't hold it any longer.

Has anyone read the "school principal" discussion in the "findmorgan.com" "forum" "general discussions"

Heard this before?

I am positive I read on here an account given by a school principal sitting behind Morgan at the concert. The poster stated that the principal saw Morgan seeming to be unwell and helped out of the concert area by her friends and not by herself as is claimed by her friends.

I also read it. It wasn't posted by a principal himself, but by a friend of his. The person was saying that they knew someone who supposedly sat near/behind Morgan and friends at the concert. He reportedly saw her get sick, saw friends escort her out, and then saw friends return without her. The poster simply noted that he was a principal for the reasons that it (a) lent credibility to his character and (b) reveals that he sees a lot of young people on a daily basis and would be able to recognize their faces/age/whatever.

Is this the first we have heard of this? Interesting indeed. I am sure if this is true LE already knows. This tends to make me think if true, the friends know more than they are saying. Id really hate for that to be true.

Hmmmmm....

Agree, I thought from day 1 this was likely. That she was on E or something and it was too overwhelming. Not that I would know ;) but would be pretty scary when the rush hit and you didn't feel in control, it would be natural if you were scared to really want to get some air.

I would hate for it to be true too, and I would think it very likely others had seen this too if it was true. But then there are relatively few people coming forward with details of their sightings of her so we know very little. I assume LE know

ITA!! Wayyyyyyyy back in the day I tried E once...when it was legal, not that it matters, lol. But I do recall that by the time the drug kicked in I had forgotten I had taken it and I TOTALLY freaked out for a 30 secs until I recalled what I had done. I had to leave the public place I was in due to freaking out.

But then I busted out into laughter.

Just wanted to share something here. A HFMDH FB site regular who was one of the people who were alarmed about NK and called it in to the head of the investigation at FBI (who is a woman), private messaged me. Her ex is FBI, and she said she was dismayed at the attitude he (ex boyfriend in FBI) expressed about MH, alluding to the fact that she is not as innocent as made out to be, and that MH's history and behaviour at concert led LE to believe she put herself in this mess as was her habit. Isn't that awful? I really hope her being looked down on and judged has not hampered the investigation in any way.

Oh dear...

Man oh man..

Who are you referring to as 'he'? I am a little confused. TIA - nevermind I get it now

It was legal?? Sheech I never knew that!
And yes, 14 yrs ago I did too and had the exact same reaction-my instinct was to retreat and have my own fun where it was calm and "safe" not stifled by the crowds-which was an overwhelming feeling for me-to be away from people and crowds. I felt "friends" were frustrated that I wasn't all happy and cheery and dancing like crazy like they were-it had opposite effect on me and I just wanted out to breathe and do my own thing.

I think this whole" MH is not as innocent as she seems" business is what is causing so much confusion and baffling LE behavior.I think the friends are either not being truthful or were too wasted to really have a good grasp on what happened hence the delay in raising the alarm. I think LE were less than enthusiastic at first for this same reason. If we are to accept this situation at face value there is no reason for there to be STILL unanswered questions about the car,the boyfriend, the chin injury etc etc...I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels there are holes in this story.

"He" the ex boyfriend in FBI sorry
Dont be sorry. I should have read it a few more times before I asked, so I am sorry.
Ya know, I am one of those ppl that always try to see the good in others until the bad is staring me in the face. I believe yesterday is the past. I really hope they are not judging her from anything she might have consumed and might have acted. I tend to doubt they are but thats me seeing the good in them as well. Its a never ending cycle of goodness to me!! lol.
I can totally understand how parents of missing children want to put it out there how good their child is due to how society is... but at the same time we have to be honest about our children as well...

So true on all points.

I have a horrible feeling the trail might have gone completely cold and she's vanished for good :(

Ha- me too!

Yes they have to be honest about their child but then again they are honest in the sense that she was a good kind person -we know this, her friends keep saying it. It's sad how much people, including LE, judge, and how much blame gets put on the victim for getting herself in that situation. But she thought she was safe. And she should have been!
