Time to let Nike know how we all feel. They are a sponsor of Michael Sick.

No good letting Nike know. They have a commercial of a pitbull and a rotty fighting.
You see a bunch of gang bangers playing basketball and the 2 dogs chained facing off. There are also parts that appear that the gangbangers are playing in a fight arena set up like a dog fight complete with spectators.

Not related to MV but to dogfighting in general. I must warn you I am bawling my eyes out right now. These poor dogs are waging their tails as they fight. Most of the ones on the video IMO dont look like fighters but scared little babies wanting someone to save them

It is sickening on a level that is hard to comprehend, IndyGal. The cruelty described in these articles is just unimaginable. Something is seriously wrong with these people.

Please write your politicians and demand that animal abuse be made a felony offense in your state with significant penalties. Demand that strict laws against animal fighting be enacted and enforced. Dog and chicken fighting still exist in almost every state and as long as the citizenry refuses to contact the people who can do something about it, the laws won't change.

Pardon me for preaching but if this is to stop it is up to us to take care of it. Politicians aren't going to lift a finger about something that the public doesn't make a stink about.

Nike will not remove it. They feel that there is nothing wrong with it.
The commercial is shown on MTV and MTV2. (oh imagine that) MTV2 has pitbulls for its logo..
It is also shown on many sports channels

God I hope not. It is so sad to think so. I saw an earlier article that said that (I've been looking like crazy for it now, I swore it was on foxnews!) on Vicks website he states that he is from Newport News (aka Badnews) so he also refers to that kennel on HIS website, so it looks as though they have done their homework for their case. Personally, I'd like to see him banned from the NFL as well, and THAT I kinda think may happen. I don't think he will walk away from this completely clean. I am praying that justice is done on this.

I live in Newport News and don't consider it Badnews. :hand: As a matter of fact my children were raised here. FYI-Every town has it's good side and bad side. It doesn't matter what side of town Vick was from. He was a star. Someone who went to both high school and college with my kids and my nephews. Vick was a local athelete who they could be proud of. I sick about what he's probably involved in. I hope he's punished to the highest degree if he's guilty of this crime.

I've been watching some of the shows and I really wish they wouldn't play clips of the dogs fighting. It's really disturbing. I hope he loses everything. JMO

A part of me wants to see him in a pit head to head with one of these dogs but then I would be as sick as him. Just hit him in the wallet and a little jailtime to think about what he does. After years of buying purebred cockers I rescued a Jack/Pitbull from a shelter...she is a gentle giant and a joy because we show her love.

I don't know why but sometimes I find the inhumane treatment of animals more disturbing than people. Is that bad? I guess cuz they are just so defenseless and at the mercy of inhumane people.

--thank you KRISNINE for that phone number to NFL Public Relations--I just left a scathing message( no profanity0 on the voicemail--It took about 15 rings before somebody answered but I let them know what I thought--If Vick's contract is eventually torn up next year, he'll stand to lose Seventy Milion Dollars--wouldn't that be nice

Hi! I wasn't calling the town Badnews, please don't take it that way. I was stating that VICK had that on his site. From what I've heard, Newport News is actually quite beautiful. Vick had that on his site as a reference to his 'other' affiliation, his 'kennel/dogfightin' name. I'd never make a blanket statement about a town, race,religion or even breed of animal. I'm a Puerto Rican chick that lives in the south, loves her heritage but listens to country music, loves NASCAR and is married to a country boy, I'm kind of a contradiction to any blanket statement that someone could say about Puerto Ricans...so I'd never be that insensitive.
