And the taxpayers need to turn up at the council Meetings and demand that Fairfax County clean house. We are sick of paying for their lack of responsibility. When the county settles, the money comes from the taxpayer's pocket.
This interview with Nicole's husband and sister is heartbreaking. I truly admire their maturity and class in this excruciatingly painful and public event. They state clearly that they do not believe that the cyber bullying led to her suicide. Nicole had discussed it with her family and decided to ignore it. They say that Nicole was a very private person who would rather carry the weight of the world on her shoulders than burden anyone else. Communication was something she and her husband worked on because she was so private. Her husband and sister were not aware of how ill she was, although now her husband looks back trying to see what he may have missed. What a tragedy.
Just thought I'd put this link out there for those interested. Nicole's death led to a lot of discussion regarding the treatment of females and new members of the Fairfax Fire & Rescue Department.
