Explanation: if you are able to view the FB of JM - you will see he references 4Chan and speaks in the language of the dark web. In no way is there a connection to the Washington massacre - ONLY that they both were 4Chan members and considered themselves a "non normie". I'm not sure why you can't see the Jan 1 3:30 am posts and view the FB page of poster with mask. No sure if the same 'Serbian dude' but his profile is clearly fictitious - and/yet includes photos of the real DE.

I saw his 4chan references and viewed his entire profile. Never once saw a photo on his profile of DE.

Agreed. There were a lot of spelling mistakes (easy words), that would make me think he didn't go to Tech. It's not an Ivy League school but you'd have to be able to spell "off" correctly to get in....

I am wondering if Nichole was trying to get some control back in her life. Sometimes when a child is sick with a very serious illness parents get so worried that they become obsessed with keeping the child safe and healthy to the point where the child has no ability to make lead their own lives. To hear that her medication was brought to her in her bedroom just rings a bit odd but not really. My first thought was why didn't she just have it when she had breakfast? Why was it being brought to her? Nothing wrong with it, but there might be something wrong with it in Nichole's mind.

I'm not suggesting that the parents are wrong or overstepped. I am suggesting that maybe Nichole was feeling smothered and perhaps needed to spread her wings "on her own".

No question, if she chose to head off with some creepy older man, it's a bad decision but a decision she may have made out of sheer need to feel more in control.

Just a thought to put towards motive for Nichole to leave on her own. She needs to be found and fast.

Slightly off topic, but years ago I volunteered at a local hospital pediatric unit. There was one little boy who was there a lot because he had a rare, chronic and ultimately terminal illness. This young child was so brave during all of the various treatments he had to endure, but one day they brought him the wrong lunch and he cried and cried and cried. It was one of the few choices he could make and they got it wrong. Believe me when I tell you i moved heaven and earth until he got his Mac and cheese.

Twisted Serbian dude aside, I believe it's quite reasonable to assume DE and Nichole did actually meet up originally through SM. Very unlikely they ran in the same circles in real life, so that would be the only way to explain how they ended up together. That doesn't mean they were "friends" or followed each other publicly, either. It could have all been through private messaging or on an account none of us have even seen. She was VERY active on SM - and I suspect she had more accounts than just those we know about.

I was hoping this girl would be found unharmed,and brought back to her family. This is so sad, I wish these young girls all felt love at home so they wouldn't have to search it out from strangers on the internet. :frown: In some of the pics she looks so sad in her eyes.

We don't know what her life was like. Her parents were divorced. We don't know how often she saw her dad.

I have 2 kids; a boy and girl. Neither father was really in their life. My daughters father saw her from my divorce when she was 5 until about 10. I remarried when she was 8. She had a great home life; but no matter what we did; we could not replace what she was missing from her father.

Watching this video I just can't wrap my mind around what the h happened to this guy? Why would he throw his future away, his dreams? And I wonder how the people who praised him so much that time and were so proud of him feel now. They must so shocked.

Did he snap? Did he push himself too much? Or was he not good enough in his mind, secretly hating himself and needed an outlet for those dark emotions.

I find this video interesting. The kid is objectively someone that, on such a large campus at VT, could get girls. He seems well spoken, not withdrawn and seems different from the loner type we often see in murders of this type (Sigg in Colorado in the Jessica Ridgeway case comes to mind). The kid in this video does not seem weird

So yeah, what happened? Why go off campus looking for a girl when he had thousands right there? Something would have made him do that. This case is unique bc in most cases the perp turns out to be a 40 year old weird guy, and guys his age who kill often would do it like Sigg did by grabbing a random girl or a girl in close proximity that they really knew.

No, he hunted her. But to kill or for sex? That is the question. I think her fb picture could make her seem like she was maybe a college freshman. Could it be a case he hunted her for rendezvous, saw she was insecure online and thought she would be easy? Maybe he gave her alcohol and then something bad happened and he panicked?

Or did he hunt her down to kill? I think that possibility is less than the first. It would b interesting to hear if we hear a history of killing animals, I think his bacjground and psych evaluation will do much to show whether he is a serial killer in making or a horny kid who got in over his head.

Also where was murder scene?

Actually case that comes to mind is Natalie Holloway. On one hand, the alleged perp could be seen as someone who got in over his head. But given then the main suspect was later arrested in Peru for murder we can see now there was more going on there, we were really dealing with an evil person who either planned to kill or cracked up after he killed accidentally.

It's a public post - meaning anyone can "like" or comment. She had just been interacting with this flake on the dating page so that doesn't really surprise me. She likely creeped his profile the same way we're doing right now.

College athletics always has a little question mark on the athletes and the grades. He was a star athlete that any school would be happy to have. However, to be accepted into the engineering program is another matter. If he had low grades, he would not be in that program. It is a difficult program and takes brains.

He was in the Engineering Program? Lord, I have a high school alumnus/friend who teaches engineering at VT.

Also college campuses have an app called friendsy which functions like tinder where they can meet people online usually for hookups. I am sure there were 1000 of girls at VT on there and the campus is big enough that even if you wanted anonymous encounters you could do that. Just put picture up, and people sat whether they want to be friends, hookup or date and if both pick each other they can meet up and do whatever. Why go bother someone off campus let alone a 13 year old girl?

She called him, and told him veerrrry seriously to stay away from her daughter, that her her daughter was TWELVE. He obviously did not listen and continued to urge her daughter to text him naked photos of herself, which she did (apparently this is BIG thing that happens A LOT in this day and age, I found out later, older guys putting pressure, major pressure, on young girls to send them naked pics of themselves...and for young girls with crushes just wanting approval...) Anyway, the senior male convinced my friend's daughter to meet up with him, where he sexually assaulted her behind a dumpster.)

Unfortunately the Internet can be a predator's dream and conduit/vehicle for conducting one's evil desires. I have little doubt that Nichole's killer is one of these predators. Jmo

There's no way he thought she was 18+. Not a chance. I can guess his motives but what I do know is that there's just no way he thought she was 18. She looks way too young and sounds (from what she typed) way too young.

And yes, as others said above, there are plenty of other college freshmen he could have hooked up with.

There is no way this all happened by chance.

Since we haven't been able to find any public interactions between DE and Nicole, I wonder what led law enforcement to DE. )If we assume JM the "masked" guy has nothing to do with this--I doubt that he is DE). I wonder if it was phone records. Or that one screenshot of her Kik from Instagram? That had to have gone through so many profiles. It's amazing to think about all of the people they probably talked to.
