I don't see that in the article? It says she's scheduled for a jury trial starting September 17th, after which her sentence will be determined. What am I missing?

Keepers pled guilty to concealing the dead body on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Keepers’ attorney hoped that the plea would limit evidence for the September trial of accessory before the fact to murder.

Turk said he would consider the defense motion to bar the evidence and would wait until the trial to decide whether each piece of evidence on the list would be barred or not.

As of today, Keepers is facing a sentence of up to five years for pleading guilty of concealment but the Judge won't decide that until after the accessory before the fact trial.

I'm surprised she was able to plead guilty to a single charge before the actual trial. Very slick indeed by the defense.
If this works in her favor, and the judge tosses a good deal of evidence to help sway the jury she's guilty of the accessory before the fact, she may only get up to 5 years. Wow. Would they count the time she's awaited trial as part of that sentence?
Does anyone know if DE would be able to testify one way or the other in her trial given the fact that he plead no contest?

I checked again this morning and DE is still at the Western Virginia Regional Jail instead of the usual prison transfer after sentencing, so it may be because he will be testifying in NK's trial. We'll find out soon.

He said it’s likely that Eisenhauer will testify against Keepers in the trial now that a judge has sentenced him. Eisenhauer can’t reject a subpoena based on his Fifth Amendment rights because he’s already been found guilty.

Interesting that she's pleaded guilty to one of the lesser charges in hopes of getting a break on the "accessory" charge.

Poor Nicole, she didn't deserve this. I'm still baffled at the depravity of Keepers and Eisenhauer, two kids growing up in a wealthy, privileged environment. Just goes to show that those things don't protect people from becoming homicidal maniacs.

If it's like Eisenhauer's trial, they will have reporters in there, along with a photographer, but no live streaming video.

Last time, the local reporters gave the best coverage through Twitter feeds. I don't recall their names, but if you go back several pages, you'll find the links to the good reporter Twitter feeds. There were a couple that did a good job covering things live. There was also a good reporter from the local newspaper who periodically did very good, detailed summaries.

Most of the rivers in this area won't crest until Monday or Tuesday. Some are expected to reach 20' or more above normal levels. Wouldn't be surprised if court is postponed.

Jury selection is expected to begin Monday. 10 News will have a crew in the courtroom.

A usually down and depressed Keepers actually appears to be pretty upbeat for the first time in a "few trips around the sun" as her attorneys put it.

In another surprise move, DE's attorneys amongst the viewing gallery here with a stack of note books. Keepers also appears to have been on a working diet since we saw her last

Jury selection underway as Keepers trial begins in Montgomery County

A handful of potential jurors were excused, including one who cried during questioning and another who told the judge she already believes Keepers is guilty. One juror said she attended Lovell's funeral and another heard about the case through his wife who had met the teen.

A total of 17 jurors remained when the court took a recess for lunch. Additional jurors will be questioned later this afternoon.

Jury has been seated. Nine men and five women. David Eisenhauer will not be called as a witness, but Nicole Lovell's mother is on the witness list. Could be they're doing that to keep her from appearing in the courtroom during the trial and eliciting sympathy from the jury. JMO

Bailey Browning rumoured to be the mystery alibi witness that will place Keepers back at the Pheasant Run apartment after she shut her phone off. A series of duplicate cell phone pings and a stunt double from Target also mystified her whereabouts.

Remember in the Eisenhauer trial, the prosecution refused to show the Target tapes, as Keepers looked pudgy going into Walmart and drastically skinny walking out..
