I think surprised that no one will be entering victim impact statements and that the Crown is asking for sentencing to be done right away.....my take on it.....not necessarily surprised by the verdict....

The original plan would have been to return to their respective jails until the sentencing hearing at a later date.
With no VIS, Leitch wants them read now, as they are automatic. I think Goodman is surprised because he wasn't expecting to deliver the "life with no chance of parole for 25 years" official sentence today.
