After one of the search warrants was executed, Schueneman said he came into contact with Rodgers then-girlfriend Taylor Shomaker.

The second residence searched belonged to Shomaker and Rodgers, Schueneman said.

The next witness is Kimberly Van Waus, a certified crime scene analyst with the Lee County Sheriff's Office. She testified in the #RodgersTrial last Thursday and was the witness who held up the hammer to the jury.

  Van Waus used tweezers to collect trace evidence from the vehicle then searched it for finger prints and collected DNA swabs from its interior. She began processing the car on July 19, 2015.

Van Waus was looking for hair while using the vacuum to suck up trace evidence, she said. She was looking for suspect or pet hair. After collecting trace evidence a search warrant was issued to collect hair from one of the Sievers pets.
