Oh snap! No school or parade on Monday? Well why would old <modsnip> Young need to lie then???

We dont really know if she lied... They could have made up a snow day.... Even if it shows its a holiday... Ohio is famous for that..

They should have to impeach her testimony, but IMO on cross she was impeaching herself a lot anyway. She's a mother trying to save her son, I believe the jury will see it that way and not take her testimony as the entire truth.

But IF they (PT) really believed he was trying to murder her they should have checked out her story.... Was really simple to do.. Then they could have busted her out during rebuttal..... None of us really know if she was lying .... The schedule could be right & later they had to make up a snow day... A lot of schools will use Memorial day to make up a snow day....

Because they once again, didn't know about the lie until it was told by <modsnip> Pat, on the stand. Why would they check if school was in session on Memorial Day? They didn't know PY was going to testify that there was a parade and streets were closed and she had to get a sub for that day.

I guess they didn't since he's not on trial for the car accident. BTW, I posted the wrong link and am now digging for calendars for her particular school. I really should put my reading glasses on I found the current year calendar for Transylvania County Schools, but not yet 2005-2006 school year. And watching My Cousin Vinny with my daughter at the same time, lol!

According to the agenda, Wednesday May 23rd was the last day for students... Monday, May 28th is listed as a Hybrid Teacher Workday, whatever that means I'm not familiar with that term.

Transylvania County Schools has received approval for this waiver, and we are going to call these additional days "Hybrid Workdays." It is quite likely that some of our hybrid workdays may occur on snowdays for kids. The first of these five hybrid workdays is scheduled for Day 2 of the "before school" workdays, August 11. There is a caveat in the state's planning: these are required workdays for all persons.

Stella, some counties public school districts follow local college/university school calendars, same holidays, spring break and snow days, it well may be the case in this community, you may want to compare current calendars to verify this and look for college/university calendar for year in question.

Copying that here... there was no make-up day for students on Memorial Day. Interesting...

1. December 15 was made up on December 22.
2. December 16 was made up on March 24.
3. February 9 will be made up on June 7.


And I really like this policy in their district... all school districts should do this!

Wednesday, May 23 was listed as the last day of school. I realize that school districts do not go back in and update the calendars online for showing the use of inclement weather make up days but if they were still having inclement weather makeup days on the following Monday, Memorial Day, that area must have had an awful, awful winter that school year.
