I get the impression the police do not think anything happened in the park. They mentioned CD disappeared from the area of her car and specifically referred to the area in front of the library. It seems she must have gone in someone else's car willingly or otherwise.

Have we ever done a timeline?
I don't recall
But if so we can add that Cheryl was seen leaving her home

Yup, I hear you. If preplanned, removing the badge would be a perfect way of changing her normal morning routine.
But that would have to be done by someone with access to her personal belongings and knowledge of her routine.
so...there is a problem

Yea it'd be a problem for say a stranger or just an acquaintance. And I am not saying it could only be the one person LE has cleared as POI, close friends that come over to the house could just as easily have/had access to her personal belongings.
When we have friends over I usually don't take my purse to my bedroom or hide it out of sight from visitors. I may though if we were having a bunch of people over like for Super Bowl Sunday festivities, but even then I guess my purse would still be accessible, I'd put it in my bedroom on the bed or something, I wouldn't put it somewhere under lock & key. And if I/we go to a friend's house, I normally set my purse down somewhere & go on about my business, as these folks are "friends" whom I trust not to steal something out of my purse, which I'd think is about the norm for most women, not all though.
So I guess my next question would be what did Cheryl do the weekend before she went missing? Did she or they go anywhere or did they just hang out inside the house? Did they do anything for the Super Bowl, did they watch it? or go to one at a friend's house? So many questions....not so many answers though.

Possibly with no fuss as there doesn't seem to be any information coming forward that anyone witnessed anything JMO

Well, we now know that it was not completely unheard of for Cheryl to forget her badge, thanks to stryker57
So I am going to go with that at this time

I guess the question would be: did someone grab CD while she was distracted looking for her badge or did someone offer her a ride home to retrieve it?

ETA: I wonder if CD knew anyone who dropped a spouse or friend at the park and ride.

I know you guys are all trying to make sense of it just as much as we are. The waiting for answers is the hardest part.

We have some additional information the public does not. However, I will not release info the police hasn't as I assume they must have reason they are not.

I spoke with my mom via phone, and also text the night before her disappearance. She seemed just the same as always. I personally believe this to be homicide.

Thank you for your insight. It must be difficult to have your life and your family pushed into this hyper-examination of your home, life and actions while you are trying to cope with the loss of a loved one. My condolences and hope that you feel comfortable here.

(I had read your post before it was edited. And, I agree.)

There is 24 hr surveillance being recorded at my parents house. She was seen leaving... She wasn't a very organized person, she could of easily misplaced her badge herself and realized she didn't have it on her drive to the park and ride. She has forgot it more than once before. It was a little creepy reading all you guys posting about doing drive by's of my dads house etc, describing what vehicles were parked there and what times. I have been watching this forum for 2 weeks or so now.
Can you elaborate on what you believe happened?
Also, can you please consider becoming a verified insider, as I suspect you are her son?

Based on the pic that Han posted (TY) it appears that the culvert has a lot of old vegetation and debris.
I am wondering (any locals) is the water fast moving when there has been rain or run off, or is it still?

I believe there was some video that showed the water moving pretty rapidly after some rain.

First let me say how very sorry I am for your loss, I can't imagine what you and your family must be going through. Second, welcome, although we're glad you're here we hate that it's under these circumstances.
And lastly, I am somewhat glad to hear your mom was not an organized person, I'm not either, and I am constantly misplacing things or forget stuff at home, especially on the days I seem to already be running late.
I hope we have not offended you or your family in anyway, I am sure I can speak for most of us here, that is/was not ever our intention. We are here to help not hurt.

Agreed, guess I was typing & posted before seeing Stryker57's post. [emoji4]

I feel a little bit ill knowing that you, one of Cheryl's nearest and dearest, is living though their worst imaginings and then you happen upon Websleuths; seeing us report, dissect and theorize. No doubt you've read some entries here that have horrified you and for that I am sorry. We pride ourselves on being victim-friendly but that doesn't change the fact that often we probe along well-established lines of inquiry.

I think for me and for many here, Cheryl represented someone very real and very true. We saw ourselves, our mothers, our aunts. We saw a genuine person with a good heart going about her daily life and that all suddenly ended. Unlike many of the cases here, nothing is making sense and we are all just stabbing in the dark with our scant pieces of information trying to understand what could have happened to this lady. Please know that we come from a good place, just people with an open and honest desire to uncover what happened, to hope that justice is served and to perhaps dream that we might stop the next case.

Often, as I write my posts, I imagine a family member might be looking a screen somewhere in the world and I hope and tactfully try not to cause further hurt and offense. Most here do. I am sorry that we here have focused an intense spotlight at Cheryl's life that can and has spilled over and touched those that surrounded her.

I am sorry for your immense loss.

I just keep wondering how one could toss a body in a culvert in broad open daylight and not one person saw it ? This makes me wonder if the crime happened the night beofre or in the wee hours of the morning .. Something just does not add up to me, does anyone know if the surveillance cams caught her face ? could it have been someone else driving her car that morning ?

Apologies if this has been addressed by now, I'm still catching up.

Unless I missed something, we do not know when the body was placed in the culvert. It's entirely possible that Cheryl was placed there when it was dark.

My sincerest condolences to you and your family, stryker57. I am so very sorry. Your mom seems to have been such an exceptional human being in more ways than one, and her story certainly has touched the hearts of so many of us on here.

Still no updates, huh? I know the woman found in Edmonds doesn't seem suspicious... But it gave my heart a jump for a second thinking some weirdo is out preying on innocent women... It is ETERNAL waiting to find out who's responsible for way too many reasons.

IDK my theory now because they say they're checking on communication type stuff (I originally thought some druggies tried to rob her, and went way too far and freaked out)... I just can't get my head around the concept that she was buddy buddy with unsavory types. I just don't think so. But people who seem normal and trustworthy flip on people every single day, could've been a friend/acquaintance who seemed normal. On top of that, she seems like a sweet lady, she could have been too sweet for her own good and had one of those friendships where you're trying to help someone who's struggling with something and they don't have nearly the same concern in return. I tend to have friends who "use" me, so I know how that stuff goes. Cheryl seems like a stable/nice person, a user's favorite combination.

Ugh I don't know. Not speculating is hard. Always want to make sense of something so hideous.
