True that but if there was an obvious cause of death I think they would have said.
IMO there are no injuries.

Detectives said the Snohomish County medical examiner performed an autopsy, and found small cuts on two of DeBoer’s fingers that appear to be self-inflicted. The medical examiner is waiting for more test results before deciding on the cause and manner of death.

One does tend to think it wasn't obvious . It may be just the wording

Years ago, I was dating a man, who did not lock his car, and his car was parked on the street.

He found, to his surprise, a man sleeping in the back of his car!!!

It ended well. The guy was either homeless or drunk, but he meant no harm.

You never know what will happen if you keep your car unlocked.

IMOO.

ohmigosh! :scared:

I often forget to lock my car when it's at my house parked up on my drive way. I live in a safe area where car theft is unheard of and since living here I've been rather laid back about locking vehicles. EDITED TO ADD - I know that many of my neighbours are, too.

I've never given any thought to the possibility of someone getting into it overnight, whether a homeless person or someone with evil intent. :scared:
I'll take great care now, in fact I've just been outside to check that it's locked after going out in it earlier!

I was in underground parking recently in Toronto.
There were signs on the walls telling people to check their back seats before entering their car

Unless she was a ninja, I cannot see her walking the mile and a half from the park and ride to that culvert, through heavy residential neighborhoods, during the morning commute, without someone seeing her. IMO highly unlikely.

I don't know the area so I am relying on all of you that do.

Exactly because if she was shot stabbed or strangled it would be Murder!
Very strange!

I'm sure ppl saw her yet didn't see her! IYKWIM
If she was someone they knew they would remember. But on my ride to work every day I don't remember who I saw walking

a little off topic but I was warned by my neice that Seattle and Washington in general had a lot of homeless people, why is that ?

Because housing costs a lot versus available wages? Many counties have limited social services to address the gap. I don't know if there's actually more versus ours being more noticeable. Almost all major cities I've traveled to in the U.S. and Europe seemed to have as many (or more) homeless people as Seattle does.

Yes.

I don't believe anyone saw anything out of the ordinary as (AFAWK) nothing was reported

A group of volunteers that included friends, family members and co-workers discovered the body Sunday. Investigators say the area is a crime scene and the death is suspicious.

Self-inflicted cuts can also happen when chopping vegetables. It has happened to me.

Well I think we need to wait for COD...
Maybe that might answer some questions for us all.

Could she have been overcome before she left her car?
Could the fingers be cut from trying to get away?

It was still quite dark.

QUESTIONS

After she sent the texts, and I believe she did send them, where would she have headed if she was to retrieve her badge?
What would the normal route be?
Am I correct when I say it was in the opposite direction from the culvert?

CD pulls up to 58th St. parks the car, gets out, does the self-frisk for ID badge.."crap..forgot it", sends the text standing next to her car door..Someone pulls up and pulls her into their vehicle or she voluntarily gets into their vehicle. (10 second incident). Depending on the direction of that vehicle they either loop around and go back to 236th or go strait to 236th and on toward 244th and Cedar Way. Death of some sort happens in that 6-7 minute drive. Homicide or heart attack from fear? Perp or perps pull over quickly and dump body into the culvert, turn right and head up 244th to the freeway, back to where they came. Entire transaction could have taken less than 15 minutes. Just a theory...Still think that they could have pulled over on Cedar, before 244th and done anything and still would have been quick..or taken her elsewhere for a bit and dumped the body later..

Good theory! We need answers to some important questions in order to develop plausible scenarios:

--What caused those "self inflicted injurie" to her fingers? To me, defensive wounds are NOT self inflicted. And why release this info to the public?

--Were there surveillance cameras in the immediate area where the car was parked? My guess is yes, and this is one key piece of evidence police have that we do not know about.

--Can police determine how long she was there in the culvert?

-Have the phone and purse been found? (I know we have been told they are missing; just wondering if poluce have them.)

--And, of course, what is COD?

To me Self inflicted cuts means she did this to herself for a purpose. And the ME knows why.

that's why I thought of testing blood.

Police said on Tuesday they were out searching the area. About 40-50 Snohomish Co. Search and Rescue helped with grid searches. They also searched the water for evidence. Some evidence was located and is being processed.

“They looked through the berry bushes, got in the water on their hands and knees and felt their way along to look for evidence,” said Pickard, adding that they did recover several items for processing by the crime lab but are not releasing exactly what those were.

I wonder if anything LE found, was related to her case. Personal items of Cheryls, etc. Maybe they have her purse
Or clues to what happened

And how far are these berry bushes from the road?

Only the New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas have more homeless than King County WA. State and local government has chosen to coddle the homeless population here. Camps, free parking zones, 1000 programs IMO encourage it.
