I have thought about the american lady that passed in Scotland, in Susan's case the evidence was right there.

Her car looked pretty clean, I really doubt that if she noticed that she had gotten blood on it that she would have left it, I think she would have cleaned it up,

Gosh this makes me think about this man that was some type of traveling salesman, apparently he was not happy in life and wanted to make sure his wife got the life insurance, so he took a gun and tied it to helium baloons so it would fly off and the cops would think he was murdered. Didnt work, it was in the desert and the baloons got caught in some cactus, poor wife didnt get the money. I hate to hear of stories like this, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. They just dont see it that way, I always believed in " this too shall pass" when I feel down..

That is very bizarre !!!! Now that took some very deep thought don't u think?
I'm like you in the this too shall pass but I have to say there are so many suicides anymore young and old. Most walk off into the woods and do it. Ill be curious to see what the tox report says.

I actually have a sign in my room! that says "This too shall pass"!

We don't know whether or not anyone saw anything but she had to be moved very quickly if she was moved in her own car while it was still dark because sunrise was at 7:26 am. Of course there may have been cloud cover.

People are abducted in busy shopping mall parking lots in the middle of the day. What I meant is that if Cheryl was abducted using her own vehicle, then she was placed in the area of the culvert during the day, making it more likely that someone would have seen something where her body was located.

If time is a factor, then one vehicle (the one with blood in the passenger area) is more likely than two.

JMO folks but a mugger will just leave ya where he hit ya and take off.
And if it was a random crime what crime besides murder was happening here?
It is my opinion its someone she knew!

Women of all ages are abducted for sexual assault. Her last contact was close to 7AM, and her vehicle was located after 4PM the same day in the general area where it should be. However, with abduction and sexual assault, I think the victim is usually found at the location where the sexual assault occurs. The culvert intersection seems too busy for a sexual assault. Perhaps the intent for sexual assault was abandoned after the abduction.

Perhaps it was a robbery where there was no intent to injure her, but after injuring her the thief panicked and drove her in her car, ultimately drowning her in the culvert area. Perhaps a thief was recognizable to her because he is a regular in the area.

How do we know that her car was located after 4pm? I missed the link.

I thought it was located earlier than that, but perhaps he found her car after he came home from work?

IMOO.

And if it was a robbery, what did they steal?

Her phone has not been used, nor her credit cards. Her car was found.

Her purse and phone as much as I am aware have not been located, but not used, either.

What else would Cheryl have that someone would have wanted to take?

Cheryl was the target for whatever reason.

Wasn't her husband notified that she was missing after his work day, and he located her vehicle on Monday, Feb 8? Wouldn't that suggest that her vehicle was located after 4PM?

That's what I remember, but I don't have time to look for a link right now.

I wonder how much gas was in her vehicle?

I wonder when was the last time she filled up her car?

I wonder, if her car was used, did the perp drive around for awhile,

then deposited her car in the area that is congruent with her text message?

I don't know why people steal things from others. I suppose paper money is one reason, and a cell phone is usable with a new SIM card.

"Police received a call from the woman’s husband Monday afternoon. He’d received a call from her employer, reporting that she had not shown up."

http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20160209/NEWS01/160209200

I found this link, but it doesn't state the time.

ETA:

"Her husband reported her missing midday after he heard she did not show up for work."

http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/crime/body-found-in-mountlake-terrace/

In this link midday she was reported missing, but it doesn't state when he found the car.

In other cases where a woman and her vehicle are abducted, the vehicle is often enough left near the location of the abduction. For example, if a woman is abducted in a parking lot, her vehicle may be found in a parking lot nearby. The reason for this is so the abductor can return to his own vehicle.

It just seems odd to do all of this over whatever amount of paper money she had, but you know people kill people for under a dollar! Sad!

And that is why these 2 photos were taken of the area that Cheryl was found:

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1110736772278372&id=211388098879915

I had forgotten about these, thank you for posting them. Longshot but this might be why the crimestoppers post says she was found on "the night of February 14th" due to the lights as the investigation went on into the night? There are a lot of photos of the east side, are these the only photos of an active investigation on the west?

I'm very glad to have the clarity on where she was found. I think the articles stating she was found in a "wooded area" along with partially in the culvert made it confusing. Especially as that end of the culvert is so open & visible heading downhill towards it.

It may have been a theft that escalated quickly into injury, where the thief panicked and decided to eliminate the witness. It could also have been an intended sexual assault, where that plan was abandoned after the abduction was in play. Given that she was found so close to where she normally parked her car may suggest that the perp wanted to hide his crime (to buy time), and to distance himself from her as quickly as possible.

I wonder if they found any tire tread marks on the east side of that culvert?

Specific tires to specific vehicles, like car tire, truck tire, and if truck tire, was it a POV or a larger work truck?

But what do Statistics tell us about crimes like this and adding to it her car was found where it should be or at least close by and so was she... this is what has been baffled. If it were a rapists he would take her to some area much more remote. I just dont get this one. I pray the cops are far better than me at figuring it out.

Yes it could be anything!
We don't know much so its a wait and see....as we sit here and toss around our many theories.

I would hope if there was a sexual attack LE would have had the courtesy to say so. but they did say the public was not in danger IIRC.
she was found fully clothed.

Thank you for posting the photos.
The area is far different than I had envisioned it.
Much more vegetation than I had thought
