The Mountlake Terrace Police Department on Tuesday shared additional details regarding their investigation into the death of a Mountlake Terrace woman.....................However, a larger amount of blood on the floorboard of the car is animal. What type of animal blood and how it got there is yet to be determined.

DeBoer’s body was found lying face down in a culvert near the intersection of Cedar Way and 244th Street Southwest with a bag loosely secured over her head. It was a take-out bag from a fast food restaurant she frequented, Wilson said.

Her clothing was on and was intact and orderly. It was not disheveled or torn. There was no sign that she had been tied up, handcuffed or contained in any way..

It's certainly
not as easy as easy as it sounds.

ETA: this is in response to post#1155. For some reason I can't quote.

She had a plastic bag over her head and was found in water. So not just a plastic bag by itself.

Okay, Gee i didnt know you could place a plastic bag over your head and lie down face first in cold shallow water and continue to do so till you die ? I would think the natural instinct to breathe would take over and prevent this from happening just like you cannot hold your breath till you die, just saying

Also from the above link:

"The manner of her death has not yet been determined, and likely won’t be for months as investigators await analysis of her computer and phone records and other forensic data – all with support from other federal, state and county officials.

“We’re working with multiple agencies that are providing assistance with this,” Police Chief Greg Wilson said Tuesday.

For example, the Washington State Patrol is assisting with processing evidence through their crime lab. The Everett Police Department is analyzing DeBoer’s computer records. The U.S. Marshals office is looking at her phone data. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner, Sheriff’s Office and Prosecutor’s Office have also been involved with elements of the investigation, such as determining the cause of death, search and rescue and obtaining search warrants.

While this provides greater resources for the Mountlake Terrace Police Department, it also means that investigators have to abide by the timelines set by those other departments, which constantly have other cases and limitations. For example, a technician in Spokane who is analyzing blood evidence is on leave through the end of March.

“We need to wait for all of this to come back to us, which causes delays,” Wilson said."

"Members of DeBoer’s family have been speaking out online about the investigation.

On the*MLTnews*Facebook page Monday night, Mike DeBoer, Cheryl’s husband, commented, “This women was my wife and she would never had done this to herself the police are still working on the case and there are thing the public doesn’t know. And the public should be worried.”

Lenore Peterson, Cheryl DeBoer’s mother, commented, “As confusing as the news reports are, our family is unwilling to discontinue the investigation surrounding Cheryl’s death. It is inconceivable that Cheryl would take meat out of the freezer for dinner, text the driver of her carpool that she would be at the park and ride in 10 minutes, park her car, walk 1 1/2 miles, crawl through brambles and mud, put a plastic bag over her head and lie face down in a cold shallow creek to end her life.”"

did it ever dawn on the cops that this could have been such an excellently orchestrated crime that very little if any evidence was left? Especially since LE did not find the car, did not find the body and a week went by before any evidence at all was discovered despite knowing the exact location where the victim was last seen ?

oh i cant stop on the fence off the fence back on i have sever splinters...... i cant help but think if this is not suicide than it must be someone very close to her after reading about razor blade plastic bag from a restaurant she frequent text message to co worker im at a loss rip Cheryl i hope your family gets answers for closure goodnight websleauth my heart aches for all and everyone who lives in the triangle please check your home security videos pleaseeeeeee

I am still thinking someone killed her! Funny how LE just added on more information after the family spoke on FB.

oh so after she used this razor blade for whatever purpose she didnt forget to place it back in her pocket before she died ? Geesus this makes me madder by the minute..im sorry just ranting.. Maybe she used said blade at work to open boxes? or for self defense? Did her family know she had a blade ? She she casually mention she needed one for work or some other purpose?

OMGOSH! How important was it to mention the bag was from one of her favorite restaurants (or whatever the wording)? Do they realize how many people frequent these fast food restaurants? The homeless guy that pushes four carts tied together in Lynnwood has four baskets full of different fast food bags!!! Does this mean we are all suppose to support the idea she killed herself now??? IMO

this is messed up no doubt, the family better be glad im not one of the family lol i would be livid and shouting from the mountain tops!

stryker57, since the police have released the info that the animal blood was in the floorboard of the car, can you specify if it was in the front or rear/passenger or driver's side?

I know you mentioned that it was fresh and enough to smear with a hand yesterday.

I agree with you, I know I would be.

I think Cheryl's family did just that by posting their views on FB. I believe LE had to come back with something because the
lack of mixed up information from the beginning. From day one it has been very confusing.

I have heard of an organization called the Hemlock Society, they help you kill yourself. I have never looked at this place but maybe I will go there and see if they have any info that might help. it would be nice to know if she went there. Her puter records would show it. Im sorry I just do not think this is what happened and I guess the cops would like it to be so that way the case is closed and they can move on.

Oh and I bet the killer is whistling Dixie long about right now...gesh

Just a couple thoughts I have pondered now that we have learned about the razor blade that was found in Cheryl's pocket:

She apparently was cut while sitting in her car in order for the blood to be found on the passenger side interior. Was she dripping blood for 1.5 miles while she walked to the culvert? There would have to be a blood trail I would think unless she had a tissue....was there tissue residue in her pocket?

If a passerby picked her up and drove her to the culvert I would assume she would have dripped blood in their car if there was no tissue available.

And if she had self-inflicted the cuts on her fingers, she would have been bleeding when she affixed the bag over her head. There would be blood residue on the tape.... And once again, where's the tape? (I assume you would need tape from what I understand.)

Wouldn't there be blood residue or smears left on the bag and her clothes even after the period of time in the water?
