This is my neck of the woods, surprised to see this case here as our DCFS notoriously gets in every foster/adoptive parent’s business.

Hoping more info is forthcoming with the arrests.

Really? I live here in Spokane too and that has not been my experience with dcfs at all but I also am not a foster parent myself so I'm definetly not saying your wrong, just that I have always thought that compared to other places I have lived that the dfcs in spokane is pretty unpredictable and doesn't really seem to have one uniform way to deal with most things, I have noticed that they seem to base a lot of decisions off of just their personal feelings about people imo, becuase I know I have heard news stories multiple times about dfcs letting ridicolous and horrible things continue with both foster parents and with kids with their birth parents, but then right after that hear about them just giving a foster parent the worst time over some of the smallest things that are so minor, and definetly not endangering any kids. And I have experienced a little bit of this myself. But like I said that is just my experience and opinion and I could be completely wrong. One thing that I think maybe helped that family get away with some things that they shouldnt have and mess up at least a few young peoples lives, even way before all this happened, is that I believe that their family was kind of respected at one point like back then courtney was still growing up, Judy's husband was a really well liked by the public, he was a school teacher for special needs and was praised a lot in news articles etc if u google him u will see. But I have heard from people who lived with him that there was a lot that the family hid from the outside world and there was bad things that happened there and there were things that the kids growing up there tried to tell Judy about and she would just angry and say they were lying.. so courtney and her siblings or adoptive ones also had to deal with a lot from what I have heard from someone who was actually there and personally experienced these things .
Beyond heartbreaking, this is Absolutely sickening. I’m not convinced that he hasn’t murdered before. I bet he’s left a ton of hurt, traumatized people in his wake Moo
Him and both his parents have left a lot of hurt in people's lives from what a family member told me, before all of this even was on the news and all that.. it's a super sad story in every way and I truly hope that everyone who has been affected by Judy and Josh and anyone else can heal and move one from all the pain they have had to deal with.

I can't believe the judge and prosecutes actually let them out of jail that easy to wait for trial. :'( I mean I can believe it becuase it's pretty normal here in spokane imo.

It looks like both Judy and Joshua pled guilty but the court site doesn't show what sentence they received.

The Washington Dept of Corrections doesn't show either of them as currently incarcerated. Inmate Search | Washington State Department of Corrections

Investigation into Spokane mother’s disappearance goes cold, court case against adoptive family members resolved | khq.com
[...]

MD and Courtney Holden had not been together for years leading up to the time she disappeared, but he remained active in their son’s life. He says he has been working overtime for the past several months to get their child back into a healthy place both mentally and physically. He says the fact that Courtney has not been in contact with their son is what makes him so certain she is dead.

[...]

The legal proceedings against Josh and Judy Holden have been resolved. Judy Holden was in court this month. Documents show she plead guilty to second-degree custodial interference-domestic violence. She is no longer in police custody.

Earlier this year, Josh Holden also entered a guilty plea to the same custodial interference DV charge, as well as a charge of criminal mischief. He was sentenced to 135 days in jail for each count, with credit for time served. He is no longer listed as an inmate on the Spokane County Jail roster.

Spokane Police continue to plead with anyone with information on Courtney Holden’s disappearance to come forward. They told KHQ they were hopeful perhaps this story could generate new leads and tips on the case that has seemingly gone cold. While those who knew Courtney believe this is a homicide case, it is still classified as a missing person’s investigation.

I'm hoping they get brought to justice. <modsnip> im looking into this case as one of my first ones. We all know judy and josh are connected and most likely had something to do with her going missing.

‘These stories should matter.’ True-crime podcast in NC focuses on missing and murdered Indigenous women | FOX8 WGHP (myfox8.com)
On a Sunday afternoon in the mountains of western North Carolina, a sewing room becomes something else…a discussion space for three women who, over the last several months, have had a lot of conversations. The conversations range from dark subject matter to lighter fare, but always serious.

[...]

As of this story, they have released ten episodes, with several more mini-episodes focusing on other cases.

[...]

The cases on “We are Resilient” involve women whose names aren’t as well-known. In addition to the podcast on Redhair, they have focused episodes on Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, Courtney Holden, Selena Not Afraid, Ella Mae Begay, Rose Downwind, Alyssa McLemore, Tristen Gray, Danielle Brady, Sky Jim, Britney Tiger, Jocelyn Watt, Jade Wagon, Ashley Aldrich, and Misty Upham — all names of women who were brutally murdered, or vanished without a trace, or were found under mysterious circumstances.
