I'm so very sorry. It's such a tragedy that LE doesn't take this more seriously.
I wish there was a different database of missing persons, especially the ones in the street life where the police refuse to take a report. At least then we could have something ...anything...but since we are not allowed to file, that means it cannot become a post here or really, anywhere.

I think the tragedy is in the reality of the person having disappeared. Family and friends are the ones left behind with broken hearts and tears. What they need, maybe, is some type of spiritual support or counselling.

Police officers as individuals may or may not feel things deeply, but on the job they are simply employees, they follow their employer's policy and procedures, as we all do if we work for large bureaucratic/ professional organizations. I'm sure they have general rules about what kinds of cases they investigate, what tools they use, how they invest their resources.

IMO if people in a community want their police to get involved in certain cases, or types of cases, they need to contact their political representatives, because it's about the allocation of money, and that comes from taxpayers.

In Christine's case, there were suspicious circumstances that have been investigated. If there is evidence of criminality, then normal police procedure everywhere is to investigate the leads, to see where they lead. Just because there aren't updates from police means nothing. In particular, it doesn't mean police have simply lost interest and don't care anymore.

I should have specified that my response was specific to @AislingGray18's BIL, however I do agree with you otherwise. I realize the circumstances of both cases are not related so I will just leave my reply at that.

There’s a post on the Cristina ASE Missing FB page (was approved prior by WS mod) on Aug 24 by other than an Admin there, so I can’t link it, but in the comments the Admin of the page gave several replies. Some of them:

Her husband sted she left her house at 6 am, she texted a close friend and coworker at 6:04 that she would be in late. We really don't know if she ever left her apartment complex or not.

yes her husband went back to their country. That is where all of their family is. Cristina had no family here in the united states. She had planned to retire in a few years and move back to Argentina.

My thoughts:

It has been a while since posting on this case, so I forgot all the pertinent clock times, but leaving at 6:00 and texting at 6:04 seems different than what I thought. I’ll need to go back and check.

If the police detectives told them they think Cristina ever left Vancouver, was that before discovering the movements of her phone to the Glenwood Park area?

Interesting that Cristina’s husband has left and gone back to Argentina. Suspicious? Or has he just given up hope. :(

SBM. If she was the only one earning income in the home and he wasn't able to work for whatever reason, he may have had no choice but to go live with family.

I had seen most of that this weekend, but not the part about her spouse leaving the country. He has never been identified publicly, made a statement to the public, pled for help, nothing. Total silence.

I pulled back from following this because it seemed clear to me who was behind this, and who assisted. But that is something we may now never know. I can't really say anything else without breaking TOS,

ETA : deleted, I know I am skating thin ice and saying too much, sorry Mods
