its not open season on drug dealers, makes no difference if Mr Belton was or not dealing.
first they were murders-now they are crack addict murders - they are digging their own hole. jmo

They are playing the P.R./emotion/smear the victim game not the logic game. I think the cops probably have them nailed to the wall on evidence.

I think the public is tired of the P.R./emotion/smear the victim game. But, I'm not in Washington, so I have no idea how it will play where it counts.

This case would seem to be the wrong case to try such a strategy...

Who would believe you would kill your supplier? It would be like signing a warrant for your death. Every supplier works for someone up the drug chain of command. Not the best health insurance for sure. jmo

And murderer's drug using (at least in the past) daddy is trying to paint the victim as someone who was dealing 20 years ago as well. This means he'd be well placed in the gang. So, if the accusations were true they would be inviting a visit from the cleaners.

little punks.......

"A letter found at the home where Adams-Kinard was arrested said they punched Belton three times before taking his wallet and drugs from his pockets, authorities said."

'I took his wallet and another ounce of crack from his pockets,' the letter said, according to the court document. 'He was unconscious so I made sure he was still breathing, and then I took off.'

"Police have said that they seriously doubt Adams-Kinard's story and spokesman, Monique Cotton said in a statement: 'We have no evidence to support that.'

Oh what a horrible, sad case. Poor man.

I wish the blasted neo-nazis would keep their noses out though, and go stick them under a car park in Magdeburg or something instead. They are absolutely no help in getting justice for victims - or caring for the homes, towns and citizens of their own homelands, if what happened to the towns and people here is anything to go by.

Such an elderly man, and probably so near having his life draw to a natural conclusion.
His death was so senseless. And the accused are only 16 years old....

Whatever happens, I hope there is remorse and sorrow somewhere, for what was done to him.....just to bring a touch of humanity to an act that was so inhumane. I hope people can be kind to Mr Belton, now that he has lost even the small ability he had to defend himself when he was alive.

Thanks OkieGranny. Their crime was among the most senseless, unprovoked & meanest I can remember. I hope justice is coming for Mr Belton.

Appearing stoic and answering a judge’s questions with a monotone “Yes, sir,” Kenan Adams-Kinard, 17, changed his plea to guilty today in the 2013 murder of World War II veteran Delbert “Shorty” Belton...

Relatives of Belton declined to comment the plea and said they planned to make a statement at the sentencing hearing, which has not yet been set...

Another 17-year-old charged in the homicide, Demetruis Glenn, has not changed his not-guilty plea. His trial is currently scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12.

Kenan Adams Kinard was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison for his role in the fatal beating of elderly WWII veteran Delbert “Shorty” Belton in August 2013...

Demetrius Glenn, Adams Kinard's co-defendant, requested a continuance from Judge Sam Cozza as soon as he received word about the plea deal. Both had been scheduled to go to trial last month but, when Adams Kinard changed his plea, Glenn requested the continuance, which Judge Plese granted through March 2, which now gives him and his defense attorney time to research his legal options.
