MISSING PERSON

Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives need your help to locate Ginger Gover, who has been missing under suspicious circumstances since July of 2018.

On Sunday July 29, 2018, Ginger Gover drove from her home in Olympia to visit friends in downtown Tacoma and then in Eatonville. At 10:20 a.m. Gover called her friend in Eatonville to say that she was on her way from Tacoma but had to stop and fix a flat tire. Another friend reportedly met Gover at the Chevron at 112th and Canyon Rd. and helped her change her tire; the friend said that Gover drove away heading to Eatonville. She never arrived and has not been seen or heard from since.

On August 6, Gover’s dark green 2000 Honda Civic was found abandoned in a warehouse complex on Valley Ave. NW in Puyallup. The vehicle had been completely stripped and likely dumped off a trailer in the early morning hours of August 4.

Ginger Lynn Gover is a 41 year old white female, 5’7” tall, 135 lbs., with brown hair and hazel eyes. Gover acts as a caregiver for her father and it is highly unusual for her to not contact him or her friends.

If you have nay information on this case please call our detectives or send us a private message. You can also leave a tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

She stopped to fix a flat tire in Spanaway and hasn’t been seen in nearly 2 weeks

Attached snapshot of Google Maps showing possible route from Olympia to Tacoma and then Tacoma to where her tire was changed and then on to Eatonville. Puyallup (where her car was found) is a short distance (north east) of where her tire was changed.

Very worried for Ginger.:(

I hope LE is taking a close look at the friend that helped Ginger change her tire.
I hope there is surveillance video form the gas station which might provide some clues to her disappearance. This incident occurred at 10:20am so there should be some eye witnesses at the gas station or surrounding area that saw Ginger and her friend. Did the friend sabotage the installation of new tire so that it would come off after being driven a short distance and then harmed Ginger.
It seems that the car was stripped in one location and driven via car trailer to warehouse complex. A person or persons would need the tools and time to strip car which would require some planning. I am assuming that LE is investigating the gas station employees also as they might have the skill set to strip a car.

I think the car is a red herring. It's an 18 year old Civic. It has some parts value of course, but given all the cars in the greater Seattle area that can be stolen for parts, I think the car was stripped and dumped either because it contained evidence or to make it seem like the motive was robbery, maybe both.

Old Honda accords are the most stolen car in America

The interesting part is the dumping of the car. If you abducted a woman, and did her harm. Why would you take her car, strip it down, load it on a trailer and transport it to dump if off? That's risky business. The potential for someone to see the car, or for a cop stop to occur? Weird!!!

Deputies say Gover’s green 2000 Honda Civic was found abandoned, and completely stripped, in a warehouse complex on in the 900 block of Valley Avenue NW in Puyallup on Aug. 6. Deputies believe the vehicle was dumped off in the warehouse complex on Aug. 4.

“The vehicle was called in because it was dumped, abandoned on the side of the road and stripped partially. Local businesses called it in,” said Detective-Sargent Gary Sanders with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. “Tires were gone, things, parts within the vehicle, some of the interior (stripped),” Sanders said.

Sanders said Gover has no history of ever disappearing before.

Her dad said she does have a drug history but was starting to turn her life around. He describes her as having a big heart, and said once took in a homeless vet to care for him at their home.

“I’m really worried,” Phillips said.

“She would’ve called me, that’s what worries me the most. If she was able to, she would’ve called me,” Phillips said. “Now I’m just hoping that maybe somebody knows something,” he said.

Tires?

So my question is, did they strip the car like a chop shop would, or just strip off things to make it look stripped.

I'm not sure if tires can be traced but used tires don't exactly have a lot of value.

The intersection, 112th & Canyon Road, is a busy one. Surely one of the many businesses around it would have security footage. I find it very interesting that the sheriff's department press release refers to a friend "reportedly" helping her fix her tire there.

I would think the car was dumped somewhere where the perp knew it would be taken and stripped soon afterward

I guess they do if you are a drug user, any sale even for $20 bucks buys another high.

The flat tire happened in the morning. Maybe Ginger left the gas station and followed the friend to make a drug buy? Something went wrong at whatever location that was. I feel awful for her Dad : (

I am assuming that LE is collecting ping data and call records from Ginger's cell phone which I assume that she used to contact friends about her flat tire. This would help track her movements on the day she went missing and confirm the statement made by her friend that helped her. I hope that LE knows more about this case than they have revealed to the public or at least I hope so.

Tires don't really have value, but the rims may.
After reading the tires and items from inside the vehicle were removed I am wondering if it was made to look stripped, but was actually because of physical evidence being removed? Tire impressions, blood or other evidence from the seats, etc... But, why wouldn't they just start it on fire if that was the case?

Nothing strange if others are watching a trailer tow an out of service vehicle.

"...take her car, strip it down, load it on a trailer and transport it to dump if off..."

Alibi building, busywork, group project.

Sensible if stripping done at business park; vehicle shoved into lot... or a trucker with full trailer as trucks would be frequenting the loading areas in the general site.
