*Plea Date Hearing (@ 1:30pm PT) - WA - Jennifer “Jenni” Bastian (13) (Aug. 4, 1986, Tacoma; found Aug. 28, 1986) - *Robert Dwane Washburn (60/28 @ time of crime) arrested (5/10/18) in Illinois. Had hearing (5/11/18) will not fight extradition to Washington (extradited 5/23/18). Charged (5/24/18) with 1st degree murder, with aggravated factors of sexual motivation & deliberate cruelty. Plead not guilty. $5M bond.
JB would go over to Washburn's apartment all the time. Hailey (Mom) allowed her 12-year-old daughter to visit Washburn’s home several times a week to spend time with his daughter, who is in her early 20s now.
In 2016, using technology called DNA phenotyping (DNA Parabola Labs), Tacoma police and the Virginia based company Parabon Nanolabs produced computer generated composites that could reveal the faces of two killers responsible for murders, using evidence found after the murders of 12-year-old Michella Welch and 13-year-old Jennifer Bastian. They are not same killer.

12/20/18 Update: Omnibus hearing continued to 1/4/19. Trial still starts 2/12/19.
1/4/19 Update: Plea Date hearing on 1/25, Omnibus hearing continued to 1/28. Trial still set for 2/12/19.
1/15/19 Update: Washburn will plead guilty to first-degree murder on his plea date on 1/25. The plea agreement was confirmed by the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. No details on the plea agreement were released. Washburn does not face the death penalty if convicted.
