I'm finally calm enough to do a little bit of looking around. I spent this morning searching facebook, I'm pretty sure the guy booked on murder last night in the Pierce County Jail is the one who killed Kimmie.

Kimmie is a friend of his on Facebook. And he fits the description of someone the family told us she was seen with the day she went missing.

I don't think we can post information on him until the media releases a name. What city does Kimmie's FB show?

It's set to private and has no information showing (not even her friends list). Her facebook is under Kimberly not Kimmie.
 
Suspect Named...

PUYALLUP, Wash. -- An 18-year-old Puyallup man is in custody after deputies said he led them to the body of a missing 16-year-old girl.

Detectives said the man was a neighborhood acquaintance of the victim, Kimmie Daily, whose body was found in a vacant lot about a half-mile from the girl's home on Puyallup's South Hill.

A police source confirmed to KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that the man is Tyler Savage, who has been booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of murder.

Investigators began doing a thorough search -- known as a grid search -- of the area Tuesday morning, said KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Dubois.

Man Arrested Will Appear In Court Today

Deputy prosecutor Phil Sorensen said minutes ago the 18-year-old man will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today. Sorensen did not say what specific charge the man will face. Prosecutors are still weighing their options, he said. "Some form of homicide," Sorensen said.

The News Tribune is not yet naming the man because prosecutors have not filed charges in the case. The young man has no criminal history.

Blair said the lot was in the area where search-and-rescue volunteers and dog teams had been searching for Daily over the past week. He wasn't sure if the exact lot had been searched.

The suspect lived in Daily's neighborhood but investigators said Monday night that they do not believe the two knew each other.

"They were not mutual friends," Blair said. "They didn't ride bikes together."

An autopsy on Daily's body to determine how she died will be conducted today, the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office reports.

Investigators aren't saying yet how she died. Nor who they think committed the crime. But the boy who led police to Daily's body has been taken into custody.

"Our detectives have been working this case, doing canvassing throughout the week. He was an initial contact during the initial canvassing, and we went back to him based on some discrepancies he'd given us," said Sgt. Mike Blair. "He agreed to sit down and talk to our detectives today, and eventually tonight he decided to lead our detectives over here to the outdoor crime scene."

"From what I gather, he was a neighborhood face; I wouldn't even say an acquaintance. He's just someone who's in the area," said Blair.

The cause of her death has not been determined.

"We're in the preliminary stages of processing the scene," Blair said. "We're in the process of gathering our resources to work the scene."

He lived within a few blocks of her and only about a block from where her body was found.
 
So sorry it ended this way. RIP Kimmie and prayers and sympathy to all who knew and loved her.

Great job by the Pierce Co. Sheriff's Dept. in catching the perp.

If the bold is true, I'm wondering if he may have lured her in, (being that Kimmie was developmentally delayed,) to sexually exploit her. Kimmie would have been extremely innocent, and trusting. :furious:
Maybe telling her something like "i'll be your boyfriend' or something to that effect.

I can't find a thing on this guy. Only his myspace with a skull shirt.

His facebook picture is even creepier IMO.
 
"It was all volunteered -- bit by bit, over a couple hours," said Mike Blair of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. "And then eventually, he said, 'I'll show you where she is.'"

Blair said the body was found at 8 p.m. on Monday, about a half mile away from her home on 106 Avenue Court East in South Hill.

Investigators have not said how Daily was killed.Family members told police that Kimberly was developmentally delayed, possessing the mental level of a 10-year-old.

Blair said he didn't believe she was victimized because of her disability.

"I think you had a psychopath and he was going to do bad things in his life one way or another, and this was just his first step. So, I don't want to blame the victim for anything. This is just a true murderer," Blair said.

Blair said the suspect has no prior offenses. Savage is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. at the Pierce County Courthouse.

Though I'm not totally sure I agree with him...I hope he's right. If he was simply killing just to kill then that's probably the only thing he did.

However, if that was the case, he probably wouldn't have told them where she was. A true psychopath or sociopath generally doesn't "give in" unless it serves THEM well. Such as giving up a victim's location to avoid the death penalty after they have been convicted.

Hopefully because he's young this is just an exception to that. Also, he may not be using the term in an actual diagnostic sense...but just to mean evil in general.

I hope they don't go easy on him because he has no prior offenses.. It only means he has never been caught or it's just his first victim. Every killer has to start somewhere.
 
Per the family spokesperson, a candle light vigil is being held for Kimmie Daily at 8:00 this evening at Zieger Elementary in Puyallup. The family is doing this to thank everyone for helping find Kimmie, as well as bring awareness to those still missing, Lindsay Baum and Susan Cox-Powell.
