Police Believe Missing Woman No Longer On Sauk Mountain

[snip]

Deputy John Hendrickson said one of the reasons they pulled the plug on the search was because the only scent picked up by dogs leads down the trail, to the parking lot.

Snipped for space. Just bringing this article forward. It says the dogs did find her scent but it just led back to the parking lot.

And yes, her dog is a Rottweiler. :)

Any news on Patty this morning? This story really bothers me.

Here's her photo from the missing flier. I hadn't seen it posted yet.

The photo on her driver's license appears to show her with blond hair. Do we know what color it was went she went missing?

It sounds to me like, based on the statement about her scent leading to the parking lot, that she is no longer on the mountain. Now the next question is how did she leave the parking lot? Up thread it states that her hiking companions didn't report her missing for 4 hours and that they went to lunch and whatnot during that time. Did they have multiple vehicles? Is it possible that one or more of those people drove separately and removed her from the mountain parking lot, prior to meeitng up with the others for lunch? This doesn't sound good.

Still no media reports on Patty. Is there a chance she could have returned home without us knowing???

No news on Patty at all for a few days now. Do they really feel she left and walked off the mountain of her own accord? I guess we will know if they return to the mountain to search in a few weeks if she is still missing.... Wow.

I emailed Ron & Don on KIRO 97.3 FM and asked them to find out if Patty is still missing. Tonight on their program they featured her son who said that she is still missing. He believes she is on the mountain and he and his friends will have a search this weekend for his mother. They are leaving Thursday, Oct. 14, he said the area to be searched is very rugged and not for amateur climbers. He is optimistic about finding her alive. The weather is turning colder the next few days, down to the 30's, it is imperative that she be found soon. Tomorrow night R&D are going to try to get the ex-con boyfriend of Patty on the air. I will try to post links to all this, I'm not very good at that. Ron and Don can be found on http://www.mynorthwest.com

Bumping for Patty. I'm afraid Patty may no longer be with us.

Her son and others have created a Facebook page for Patty. It's updated regularly. Latest news is that her dog may have been spotted on the mountain. Her son believes she is still on the mountain. They're organizing a volunteer search effort, but its difficult as the terrain is dangerous for amateur hikers.

Her son is also taking legal action to prevent her boyfriend from removing her things from her house. The guy is apparently moving her furniture, etc. out. Really strange behavior.

Son continues search for missing mother

The search for a 65-year-old hiker on Sauk Mountain was called off last week. But her son continues the search, while trying to protect what his mom left behind.

[snip]

"They hollered over to her saying she was going down the wrong trail, and according to them, she looked back at them and then turned around and kept walking," Patterson says.

Patterson says there are only two reasons why Krieger would have left the trail head.

"A, somebody drugged her and she was out of it, b, She was scared for her life."

The facebook page has a certain amount of, to put it mildly, disgruntled comments. Questions raised are similar to those I have, namely, why wasn't her home sealed on day one to prevent tampering with what may have been a crime scene, why was the search discontinued after 3 days, is anything being done by LE now to locate Patty?

Please help us keep Patty's thread going. She needs to be found!!

It really really saddens me to see that it seems that everyone except her son has given up on Patty. The Facebook page is kept updated with new areas that need searched. Unfortunately they have to rely on volunteers and hikers to do it on their own. I wonder when the "if she is still missing in a few weeks we'll do more searches" kicks in? She's been missing for over 2 weeks now.

If she is out without shelter, a few weeks will definitely be too late. It was freezing here last night and I can only imagine how cold it got in the mountains. I hope LE is working behind the scenes and having regular "chats" with the boyfriend. I think there is way more to this story than what we've read.

Big storm expected this weekend, not a good time to be in the mountains. I'm afraid time is running out for a positive outcome for Patty. I hope she made it out of the mountains and decided to start over someplace safe away from the boyfriend.
