No, it can be a marker or identifier but is not the exception to the rule. It can vary by tribe as well.

I just stumbled on some strange stuff. Try looking at Levity Elks, it is an anagram for LS. I am still exploring so can't elaborate on it at the moment. It is possible its just junk.

Note the hand writing on the document and compare to Lyle's printed words on the hotel sign in sheet.

Interesting find but the letter and "Levity Elks" are both fictional. The Tanis podcast often incorporates real life cases into their stories and Levity Elks is the name of the episode featuring Lyle's case.

Was this in response to my question? If so, thank you.

I was reading the police report and Lyle's profile looks so much like that of a Native American...I'm not certain, obviously, but I can't let the possibility that he may have been of Native American descent go, in spite of the absence of shovel teeth making it less likely.

It is my opinion that this guy looks like he is middle eastern. He kind of reminds me of Mohammed Atta.

Maybe or maybe not. Records get lost all the time, or maybe it was reported and there was no follow-up since LE didn’t suspect foul play/ didn’t have any evidence of anything suspicious happening. But we don’t know if records have been or haven’t been lost since we don’t know Lyle’s real identity.

Not every police or ME department share their records. There is a shortage of records in Mass if you look in NamUs and Georgia is another state that doesn't participate much. It's very possible it's on a computer or they denied the person the MP report

Just a quick update that I don’t I have any new information yet. I think the best thing at this time would gather all the info I have and connecting LE to private labs, etc, instead of me acting as the middleman. There are just way too many nuances, facts and other things that I don’t have and it would be best if I just communicate all the basics and see what happens. I will continue to let everyone know if there is anything new.

Remind me what you're doing. Connecting them to what type of private labs? Lyle's team did isotopes already, about the only thing left would be pollen. If you're talking about what I'm posting below, he needs a government lab; the only way around that would be to use his hair or a tooth if they have it (without having to exhume) to get the Y-DNA from that.

I spoke to Mr. Youmans via email today and he kindly explained the DNA situation to me:

I spoke at length with Colleen Fitzpatrick, the woman who solved the Lori Ruff case. The problem is, the DNA profile we have for Lyle is different than one you would get from a company like Ancestry. We need a Y-DNA profile, and from what I have learned, the profile is different. I had hoped to submit our profile to one of the Ancestry companies, but from what I understand, they won’t cooperate, as they don’t want to be associated with Law Enforcement. I understand their reasoning, as they don’t want people to submit a saliva sample to find their ancestors, and wind up getting arrested for some old crime, where their DNA was in CODIS. I’ve tried to get Lyle’s DNA profile from the University of North Texas DNA database, but they won’t release it to me. They said they would give it to another government lab, as the DNA sequence is so long, that a lab would know which section to compare.

If I had known about companies like Ancestry and 23 and me back in 2001, I probably could have obtained a saliva sample from Lyle and submitted it to the private company, but all we took was a blood sample that I submitted to the University of North Texas, and the profile was run through CODIS.

Lyle looks Native American, you can see it in his photos. I don't post much and been a member for awhile. I read every post with Lyle. I'm going to start sending photo's to every Indian reservation. I know these reservation's has there own rules on people going missing so he may have never been reported. It may be a long shot but worth it. I also know he traveled a lot due to his Isotope testing but still think he came from a tribe. I don't think it had anything to do with 9/11. I think he was running from something, maybe his own demons. This is just my opinion.

I think he looks Native in a few photos but not all. Do Native Americans have a unibrow?

Here´s a new candidate for Lyle:

The photo appears on the UK website missing-you.net at:
https://www.missing-you.net/personpix/141940-1456954576.jpg

I could not make head or tails of this site. I can´t match this photo with the multiple posts they have on the site. One of the posts must mention the name of the person in the photo. I just have no idea how to get it. Can anyone find it?

A unibrow is a recognized feature of Cornelia De Lange syndrome.

Wow, looks like him!!! I did a Google Image search of the picture and found this: https://www.missing-you.net/people/gavril-todorov-borisov-141940.php . Looks like this was posed in March 2016 and this person hasn't been seen for a year prior. Likely not Lyle? But wow, they look a lot alike.

Thanks for finding the post on the missing-you site! My image search returned nothing.
So, the man in the photo is supposedly Gavril Todorov Borisov from Bulgaria and he disappeared in London in 2016. Definitely not Lyle.
I will do a bit of research on Gavril just to make sure.

The eastern european appearance does seem to reinforced by those other missing people's photos. strong resemblance for sure.

Based on his isotopes, I'm thinking military family. That is a ton of moving!

Had anyone thought of because of his near perfect teeth and his expensive clothing there is a slight possibility that he is a dentist. The boots kinda rule out business man. Wearing boots in an office job is kinda strange. But possible

Its possible his clothing was from a thrift or second hand shop. I buy clothes from Goodwill all the time. They are name brands, good condition and normally expensive so, it could be pssible but so could the other scenario.

Blaine Hector was last seen on Christmas Eve 2001, running into the woods behind his father`s house. Relatives say he was there to show his father a used car he was interested in buying, but the owner of the auto dealership called police and reported the car stolen. When Hector saw the officer pull up to the house, he took off and hasn`t been seen since. Police Chief Doug Hackett remembers searching for hours that day with police from three towns, the county sheriff`s department, State Police, and a dog. Since he was a stay at home dad with two kids, everyone expected that he would show up on Christmas Day, or call to be picked up somewhere. The search continued the next day. In the spring, authorities flew over the area in a helicopter to see if anything would indicate there was a body or a camp or something up in the woods. When he vanished, Hector was 30, married, and living in Milford. His wife has since divorced him, and his father died in 2004, not knowing the fate of his son. Police staked out the funeral, hoping Hector would attend, but he did not come. His mother feels certain that he is alive somewhere and for some reason, he doesn`t want to be found. Relatives say Hector, the youngest of three sons, was deeply affected by the death of his brother, New Hampshire National Guard Specialist Wade Hector, who died in a truck accident in Saudi Arabia in 1991. After his brother`s death, Blaine suffered from depression and dropped out of college. Family says he seemed to not care about anything anymore. There is an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Sullivan County.
