Millard is charged with a single count of first-degree murder. Mark Smich, who was found guilty with him at the Tim Bosma and Laura Babcock trials, is not charged in this one.

Assistant Crown attorneys Jill Cameron and Ken Lockhart are again prosecuting the case, after successfully securing convictions for Laura Babcock's murder.

Justice Maureen Forestell is presiding over the trial.
