She gets caught at the border or anywhere in Canada with a handgun and she goes to jail in a nanosecond and her gun is confiscated too. Too bad, so sad, her license means nothing here. She does not have the constitutional right to bare arms in my country.

link please. You can bring a gun into Canada if you've met the legal requirements and there's no way you're going to jail in a nanosecond, or ever, just for having a legal gun at the border.

Please return your seat backs and tables to their upright positions, jurors and attorneys, and prepare for landing this trial of a she-devil into reality city ! I cannot wait !!! :great:

Well? Speaking of rental cars and guns and other facts in evidence, I wonder how well the original rental car was searched and what was recovered in terms of evidence? We never heard much about that in the State's case ... another cliff hanger maybe? Maybe there will be something more come out about that in the rebuttal case.

Or perhaps it is just that there simply is nothing else in that respect :sheesh:

I doubt there is anything more the State learned. By the time they learned which rental car company it was, it had already been cleaned and rented out again. They did not test it for any remaining evidence since it would have been compromised and not useful.

However, the witness from the rental company was helpful in picking Jodi out from a photo lineup and testifying that she had blonde hair when she rented the car.

I think Wendy Murphy goes a little too far on her speculation here for why ALV approached Sam in the courtroom (discussion here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/websle...as-true-crime-radio-sunday-night-8-pm-eastern), but it'll be interesting to see if anything comes of it. I'm assuming ALV will be told in no uncertain terms to keep her distance and then some. Terrible behaviour on her behalf.

Could you just give us a little summary of what Wendy thinks is the reason ALV approached Samantha?

AGGGHHH. The "snow white stuff" was to buy time for REAL testimony on Monday.

Sorry, I am listening to the radio show.

I am assuming Stephen Colbert wants justice for Travis Alexander? Why the popcorn? This trial is nothing to celebrate with popcorn.....JMO

Ya know, how did the chic get away with 97 stab wounds in HOUSTON? (I listened to the radio show)

How did that happen and get overturned? Even beyond Jodi cray cray?

That is her signature pic, it automatically attaches to all posts.:twocents:

Do you have a sense of humor???????

To sooth your soul. Sometimes we sooth ourselves with humor or whatever floats your boat.

Yes, of course, she had been to Costa Rica, I belive. For an extended period of time.

My son needed one in '08 to go on a fishing trip in Canada.
His expires at 21...

If you are over 18 when issued they expire every 10 years (I think)

I think JA went to Costa Rica at 16?
If she ever thought she was going to Cancun she would not have needed to renew it. In 2008. Passports were not required until 2010...

http://getawaytips.azcentral.com/us-passport-policy-cancun-travel-2651.html

So IMO if she possessed valid a passport she was headed to Canada
if not she was going to Mexico.

Since she allegedly speaks Spanish, Mexico would be my bet. :dunno:

She thinks it's strategy by AVL .. an attempt, consistent with her 'fake flu', she was hoping to provoke a controversy and hoping JM will bring it up on the stand and say 'you tried to intimidate one of the victims family didn't you' goading him, and she would want to say that she 'feels for the family, is compassionate .. ' because she wants to say in front of the jury that she feels deeply for the victim and the victim's family.

Anyway, I think that's a whole lot of speculation, and nobody can know what ALV was thinking, but I don't agree that it was a calculated act to get JM to say something to her on the stand (speculation) to get her to respond (more speculation) for a speculated reason.

JMO

Think I'll wait to hear what she said to Sam before I start projecting opinions into what was meant by it.

That would be 193 times. And somehow Susan wright got a jury to get her charges reduced due to-guess what-abuse claims. Stupid &%*&% is up for parole next year. Bizarre for Texas. Just bizarre.

She needed the gun to control him and ask him to sit down. If she used only a knife to order him to sit then no way Travis would have done what she wanted. A grown man would be able to fight the opponent off. She had the gun. He was powerless in that situation.

Yep. I might back away from a crazy woman with a knife, but
1) I would not sit down in the shower
2) if I were already in the shower, I could close the shower door on her, keeping the glass between me and the knife.
3) if she also had a gun, that would make me comply.

i think that once she set down/dropped the camera, she probably had both the gun and the knife in her hands. That is why TA could not really fight back. With a knife alone, she'd have to make a debilitating wound with the first or second thrust. Else, TA throwing a shoulder into her would have sent her sprawling as he had 50 to 80 pounds on her.

BBM Good point! I forgot about the door.

Is she being re-tried? I mean, dammit. I didn't know until I heard some tapes. Is there a link on WS for this? I don't wanna bring it into this.

No....she had appeals and another sentencing hearing and finally in 2010 she was resentenced to 20 yrs in prison...though she she is up for parole next Feb. There may be a thread here...dunno. You can just Google Susan wright as well.

When Jodi hears - Guilty of first degree murder, I want a full on freak out. For everything she has put everyone through in this trial, it's the least she could do. You just know she will speak during the penalty phase. That should be fun

To quote her, "There's a morbid curiosity" to which I will add - There is a morbid curiosity to see how her stun belt works.

Absolutely! And watching Travis Alexander's family members deliver victim impact statements to the murderer will be a special privilege!

Suit yourself. I have a great sense of humor but this is NOT the trial that I would jokingly sit back eating popcorn over and joke about. This woman viciously murdered a man and is being tried for first degree murder with death penalty. My opinion only.

Roger. We have been here for months. Sorry for ANY familiarity.

OK - So I just found out that we have to run errands tomorrow afternoon. Help an old friend out here, please. What live online stream can I watch and put on "Pause" and then when we get back from errands, hit "Start" and get the entire trial online? I will NOT go thru HLN hitting pause and start missing a lot of Juan Martinez.....Thank You.

It's not a pause and replay type scenario, but what I tend to do if I have to miss a session of trial (actually I always miss the morning session) is; I will watch on wildabouttiral's live stream (no ads), then by the time the live stuff is finished I will go back and watch the earlier sessions on youtube - via either tawnidlly or croakerqueen123. Seems they are right on top of it most days.

You may not like doubling back like that but it works for me.

I know I must be in Jodi's fog when I write this. If ALV wants to salvage any bit of reputation she has left, I would love to see her flip and be honest with Juan. She was duped by Jodi and her lies. After further investigation she doesn't believe Jodi was abused

LOL like I said, I am clouded by the fog :)

I doubt if her testimony in this trial is going to harm her reputation in any meaningful way. It might even enhance it among the gender studies crowd. You know all the profs who preemptively declared the falsely-charged Duke lacrosse team guilty of rape and worked to deprive them of their civil rights not only thrived but many got promotions. I doubt any of them even apologized to the falsely accused.

She is an expert witness for the defense, and both sides knew in advance the essence of what her testimony would be. If the DT felt she could not be useful to them, they wouldn't have gone ahead and let her testify .

For her part, she may feel she can make a difference between life and death for JA. Since the memo at the top of every thread here says in big red letters that we are not to criiticize the DT or any expert witness, I'll refrain from commenting further.

Whether she can continue to insist TA was the abuser and JA did nothing wrong in the face of JM's upcoming cross is a whole 'nother question and I'm looking forward to it. :)
