It would be interesting to know if this is just a phase in spamming and what server it's coming from...considering the political timing.

That there's a URL in there that suggests to me that it is just your average spam bot, but it's an interesting thought that what appears to be a normal spam attack could be disguising a message that "we can disrupt your internet even without using viruses or anything particularly technical".

I just found some older stuff that didn't look Korean, it's Asian, maybe Vietnamese, but it's all double Dutch to me!

It almost looks like it's from posters on a forum, e.g.

Mine too, but only on the New Threads tab. The Recent Threads tab looks normal.

I am using a lap top with Firefox. I logged out, cleared cookies and went to private browsing, logged back in and still the same.

Switched to Internet Explorer same.

Yes, just the New Threads. I'm on a PC using IE 11

I’m sure it’s just a regular spam bot. I was curious and googled “forum spam bot Korean” and it’s been an issue for other forums for many years.

Eta - a lot of the other sites said the bots were posting casino ads. I can’t read Korean so idk what they are posting here.

First off this was not a hack. It was a spam attack. Why? No one knows. I am going to use Google translate and see what the thread titles say. Maybe that will help us understand the point of this crap. If there is a point at all.

We may have a few stragglers who are still active members and might start more Korean threads. If this is the case please alert. We truly would rather have a bunch of alerts that are the same rather than no alerts at all.

Well, that was a little excitement in our lives for a moment. Now back to your regular programming.

Well Dang. I thought we were going to have some secret message and it would turn into a political spy drama. Instead, the Koreans only wanted to advertise computer, tax and accounting schools. I am bored just typing out those topics.
