During their investigation, police found heroin they think belonged to Hadsell, sent it to the Virginia Division of Forensic Science where technicians confirmed it was, in fact, heroin. Norfolk police Cpl. Melinda Wray declined to say when or where police found the drug.

So I suppose it's entirely possible the residue reported to be on the hidden drug scales in the AC was in fact coke, and the heroin discovery was a separate deal.
Just as an aside but I wanted to explain why I'm not on-board with thinking WH is 100% guilty (for those who may think I'm a little nutty, lol):
I know a man who was accused & charged with some rather heinous crimes. All along from beginning to end he declared he was not guilty. While he sat in jail for several months waiting for his trial (and while his entire life was destroyed, lost his job, his home, his kids, and his good reputation), the investigation continued. As it turned out, his accuser was a liar. Charges were dropped from felony to misdemeanor, and he walked out of the court a free man. Except, with no job, no car, no home to go to, and a ruined relationship with his kids.
What I learned from that was simply this: you can be accused, you can be charged, and you might even come off as being guilty as sin, and still actually be innocent of the crime. So even though I think WH is downright creepy, I feel like I still have to give him the benefit of the doubt until or unless LE actually charge him (or someone else).
We don't know where the heroin was found, or IF it actually belonged to WH. For a drug possession in VA to stick (from what I've read today), LE would have to prove it was "under his control" meaning, on him, or in his home, motel room or vehicle, but even that doesn't mean it was actually his.
moo.
