Where is Madeleine? Where is she?

I don't think she was snatched to order.

But if she was kidnapped by some local perp who saw an opportunity, I could see him watching the McCanns and their friends to learn their routines. Their eating out at night provided a perfect set-up for an abduction. It's also possible the pedophile might have bribed an employee to let him know if one of the Tapas group left the restaurant to check on the children.

I think that if she was "taken to order" the temptation to return her by someone connected with the crime (not necessarily the customer, so to speak) would be huge. The massive reward would be very tempting to anyone who came in contact with Madeleine, and in a day when Tibetan sherpas on Mount Everest have satellite tv, the chances are more likely than not than someone would know about the reward.

Anyone who came in contact with Madeleine and knew about the reward, would know what turning her in would mean.

So while I think that an abduction is possible, the existence of the reward and its unclaimed status makes it harder for me to believe that scenario. That only leaves the possibility of a local perpetrator acting on his/her own.

I agree.
Madeleine may have been snatched to order but I think it more likely a local perp took her.

I agree.

I'm not sure if she was snatched to order, think more likely it was a local perp.

If Kate had some flippin 6th sense regarding danger she should never have left her children alone.

I believe it's possible she was snatched to order. She was a beautiful, unusual-looking child, the kind coveted by a certain type of man. I have no doubt there are many "orders" out there for blonde children.

It is much, much easier to obtain a child to order in Eastern Europe. The countries that make up what used to be Yugoslavia come to mind. Many of these children are blond. Their parents are poor or often the girls aren't carefully supervised because their families are just trying to exist.

Possibly it is easier to snatch a child in Eastern Europe. However, that does not preclude children being taken from other places. If it did, children everywhere else would be safe - and they're not.

And with all the open borders in Europe now these sort of crimes are no longer limited to Eastern Europe.
And Portugal is a perfect gateway for moving a child quickly to another country.

Or for that matter, to a different continent.

They can blame perps and sickos all they want, the trouble only started the moment the McCanns walked out of that apartment leaving their 3 children alone ...
What makes me madder is they still have the twins in their care, surely the UK child, youth and family couldn`t possibly think the other kids are safe? They have left them alone before, they will do it again ...IMO

Well, perps and sickos who abduct, rape, and murder should share some of the blame, should they not?

They wouldn`t have a chance to rape, kill and what ever they wanted to do to Madeleine if they were watched properly by a sitter ...
Why spend so much money on a holiday and then not pay for a sitter?
Yes, if she has been taken for what ever enjoyment they disgustingly get out of children then they have to pay the price, but her parents made it the process alot easier for them don`t you think?

Well, someone left poor little Maddie alone for several days and I know you do not want to hear that again.

what - she was left alone ?? Are you sure . I have never heard that before - this is news - have you got a link ?

;) ;)

If you substitute a $100 bill for each of the McCann children and left them on the bed where the children would have been sleeping, do you think the McCann's would have locked the door to their apartment? You bet they would have, they would have been concerned for their money! Yet, leaving precious, sleeping children unattended seemed the safe and prudent thing to do. That tells me all I need to know about his case. Even if the McCanns did not harm Madeleine, they endangered her and took less care for her than a wallet. Bad things happen to good people but good people don't treat their children like pets. There is much more to this story than we have been told. The continued excuse that this is a common childrearing practice in Britain just doesn't fly. I can understand putting their children to bed early so that a couple can spend time together, but that only makes sense in someone's own home where you are still in close supervision of the children NOT leaving them alone and going out to the local restaurant for dinner and drinks! The McCanns must bear primary responsibility for negligently supervising their children and failing to protect precious Madeleine.

Hi Siren, Hope you don't mind me joining in, I just wanted to say that I am from the UK and can I assure you that it's not common practice to leave beloved children on their own. We love and cherish our children, when we plan an evening out we engage trusted babysitters (mostly a close relative like mum or sister or aunt) and when on holiday our children holiday with us, day and night.
